Transmitting a Talk Confirmation Tone
You can set your radio to transmit a unique tone when you finish transmitting. It is
like saying Roger or Over to let others know you are finished talking.
• To turn talk confirmation on, press and hold (+)while you turn the radio on. When
you release after transmitting, your confirmation tone transmits and displays.
• To turn talk confirmation off, turn your radio off and then back on while pressing
and holding (+).
The sound produced by a Motorola radio when the mike is keyed refers to the "Transmitting
Call Tone" which is another feature other than the "Interference
Eliminator" or the "Roger
Beep" feature.
On most Motorola GMRS/FRS TalkAbout radios, setting the "Call
Tone" to 0 disables the feature. This is done with the radio ON by pressing on the "Menu" button 3 times which will result in the display showing the current Call Tone setting (flashing) and the letters CA; pressing on the <- or +> buttons will change selection (you
will also hear the different Tones), select 0 (it
may be up to 5 or 10 depending on the version). Press on the "Menu" or "PTT" button to set, save and exit.
Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.
Try this. To get rid of the Talk Confirmation Tone push your menu button until you see the .)))) icon appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Now to remove the sound push the minus button ( beside the menu button) "off "should now appear in the center of the screen. To turn the tone back on push the + button and "on" should appear on the center of the screen.

make sure that your mic input is not muted. look under control panel/sound and audio devices, then under your microphone, select "volume" and make sure the input is selected (with a chack mark in the box under the mic volume control) and not muted.
see if the little sound icon on the bottom right is on mute or if it says device not found or a variation of that.
if its mute it pretty straight forward just un-mute it by clicking it.
if it says device not found or a variation...u might have had the driver updated using windows update if its automated...or worst case is the sound card burnt out...
if u can't get it to work u can just get a cheap usb sound card...i got one for my friend for like $10...u can get it on ebay or almost any electronics store really..
if you double click on the volume icon in the start bar..you can the go to propertys and see the volume comntrol for the mic and the pc speakers..you can mute it there
I had a viewsonic which had both speakers and a mike. So you need to connect 3 things:
1) The vieo siganl,
2) The (usually) green ouput from your PC sound card ouput to the minitor speaker input,
3) The (usually) pink cord from the monitor's mike-out to your sound card mike input.
Then, next, there are controls on the Viewsonic, one is a mute
function. Turn off the mute and crank the output level all the way up,
those little speakers do not have much punch to them.
Finally, you need to go to your sound card's control panel, and turn up
the volume to the speakers, and of course, turn off the mute.
Another thing you may want to do is test your sound card outputs with a
real pair of speakers... (Surely someone will loan you a pair for a
minute -- ordinary CD player speakers would do.)
Above the keyboard are three hard keys for volume (down, up, and mute). The mute button only mutes, it does NOT unmute. To unmute, push the volume up button a few times. Now try your sounds again.
I was very confused because the hard mute key does not affect the GUI at all (you don't see the little speaker with the red x in the notification area). Hope this helps!
When did this start? What happened just prior to that?
Turn the volume DOWN for any further analysis. If it isn't loud enough to hear well at 1/4 volume, cranking it to the stops will not resolve it AND when you finally find the misplaced switch you may launch all of your speaker drivers right out of their cabinets.
Do you mean the MUTE button does not CHANGE the volume? It sounds like you're muted already and it doesn't UNmute. Is MUTING lit on the display?
Does it happen with all sources? Use onboard FM to troubleshoot as it can't be connected wrong.
