Starting fluid is bad and can cause big expensive problems.Throw it far away.Did you check the cam and ignition timing and did you do a dry and wet comp. test.Starting fluid is bad and can cause big expensive problems.Throw it far away.Did you check the cam and ignition timing and did you do a dry and wet comp. test.

The key switch went bad in my 88 Honda DX.I found out the problem quite by accident.Try playing with the switch very carefully and see if it will start for you! Yes the engine will spin buy it will not feed the coil so it will start.Good Luck!
check ur timing - MARK with a scratch tool or use a yellow majiuc marker to see where the timing is now then-
loosen the distributor bolts - if you have a distributor on that model and - turn the distributor one way - then the other and see if it improves. You can slightly tighten the bolts or carry a wrench with you and drive the car and see if a new position improves the running of the car. Also - change the plugs if you haven't done so - check them to see how they look anyway. You may have a flooding condition on your hands as well but that is a whole new thing - so stick with timing and plugs -
Hi,
Since you're sure that you are getting gas and fire and timing is right... (also check firing order), has anything been done recently that could help you locate the problem? Such as removed distributor (could be 180 degrees out)? New plug wires (maybe crossed)?
All else I could recommend is checking cylinder compression (In case the valves are the problem)... The engine timing chain could need replacing...
Hope this helps... Good luck!
Does the engine spin over OK, but just will not start ?
If so, check for a spark to the spark plugs, if that is OK, remove the plugs, inspect them for wetness & oil, check for compressions in the cylinders, if that´s OK, are you are getting fuel to the injectors.
If the only evidence of trying to start was when u used starter fluid, it's probably a fuel issue. After attempting to start several times, pull a plug and check for gas/wet plug. If there is no evidence of gas reaching the plug, it's probably the fuel pump. Change the fuel filter too.
