This is a pretty complex task - but
Remove top lid
remove control panel
remove front panel and door
remove the right side panel
remove the front support panel ( supports the drum)
the impeller will now be seen lower right of machine
Hold motor pulley while loosening impeller nut
Replace impeller

SOURCE: Help - Miele Dryer Model T9800 problem!

The belt is most likely broken. The front drum bearing seal may have worn out and caused this to happen. Call Miele. You'll be better off.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

SOURCE: Miele T9800 dryer starts then stops and goes dead.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

SOURCE: I have a Miele T9800

Hi - it makes me wonder as why we always tend to do things first prior to seeking the right/correct advice.

A T9800 Miele is not your everyday cheap dryer as you will know - the questions is have you still got your user Manual and if you do - have you read it carefully - it will tell where the problem lies and how to clean it.

I cannot grasp the fact that you would remove the rear access panel for a heater bank to check the resetable over temperature unit.

The machine clearly indicated a vent/filter error not a heat error - I know at this moment you have and are swearing & calling me names...

I will let you cool down a little ....................and I will tell you what you should have done instead of removing that panel Ok?

A loud clunking noise - the vent/filter check light came on plastic broken parts which looks like a fan or something.

Hi
Yes, your right, it is the blower fan for the dryer, something may have gotten down the filter element housing and broke it, or just from heat and time.
Yes, you can fix it if your somewhat mechanically inclined.
It is not a hard job, but must be done correctly.
I will send you a webpage with some parts choices.
I do not know where you location is so I cannot send you to the direct webpage.

Problem with Miele Touchtronic T 9800 Dryer end indicator

You've most likely got a bad control board. You'll have to install a new one which can be a bit expensive but cheaper than a new machine by far. I recommend getting a service tech to replace it for you however if your handy you could replace it yourself. Just get the new control board from an appliance parts store, they should be able to look up which board you need as long as you bring them the model number.

Thermal Fuse/No Heat- Where is it??

We were drying pillows and the thermal elements tripped. I took the panel off of the back of the dryer. The screwdriver uses a hex head (Lee Valley Tools). There are 3 thermal switches. Pushing the button at the center of each switch resets the unit. Our Miele is now running again which saves me a $200 service call.
