My OVHD OpenView HD decoder is working, it's the older version so doesn't have volume on it. Bought a remote with the exact name on it, even the new models remote but it doesn't work on it.

You have to make sure you specify the model. Did you check the batteries?

My OpenView HD Decoder started flashing blue light no sound and no picture.

Do a power reset first. Disconnect from the wall socket for 10 minutes..

Try factory resetting it

How to factory Reset OVHD decoder

Press menu from the remote control.
From the screen scroll to setting then press ok.
Under setting go to installation and press ok. Parental pin code will be required, enter 1234.
Scroll down to factory reset and press ok.
Press ok again to start channel search.

Activate my openview decoder please.STB Id is 31 9023 5609 31

Connect the cable from the dish to the LNB-IN port and switch the OVHD decoder ON. The decoder will pick up the OVHD signal automatically. The decoder must be activated using the cellphone by entering *120*6843*1# and then follow the menu.
