Very possible, but yet, this might be the manufacturer defect power supply which they will fix it for you free;but before we jump to this conclusion, you need to test it first:
-Unplug the power cords.
-Unplug the media video cable from the box to the tv.
-Check all the pins on the video cable are in place as well as the connectors both behind the TV and the media box.
-Reconnect the media box and TV with the video cable(DVI+VGA in one) and have at least a video component hook up to it(ex. dvd player/VCR or comcast box) be sure this video player is turn on and running,at the same time,be sure it is under the right video input.
If you have tried the above steps but still doesn't work, call 1-800-pioneer Tuesday-Thursday at7amPST and address your issue to them.

Hi,
I am sorry to hear regarding the problem. Disconnect the power supply for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON.If you still do not see any picture, than it is an internal failure and needs repair.
There could be few probabilities. What has happened most likely is your Y or Z sustain board has failed
and needs to be replaced; both of these are about the same price to
have replaced as well. The average cost of replacement for these is
$550-$750+ tax, the repair price, however can vary depending on the part
of the country you live in and the shop you call out. Sometimes smaller
shops that are less dependable will charge less than the large outfits
with big overhead costs. If you have electronic repair experience, and
test equipment let me know and we can troubleshoot this together,
however if you do not a repairman will be required. These sets are
fragile and you MUST know what you are doing when repairing them or
damage can be caused to them, or you!
This is an
unfortunate problem because these televisions should last a lot longer
than they do, however the age of them doesn't seem to affect this
problem at all. We do warranty work for most of the major manufactures
and I cannot tell you how many 1 week old televisions we have done major
repairs on. Also the same problem that might have happened to one
person's television at 1 week old might have happened to someone else's
at 3 years old. These new sets are a shame to be honest with you,
nothing is made the way they used to, or the way they should be for that
matter. The average span of time for a new plasma or LCD television to
last before its first major problem seems to be anywhere less than 3
years.
I am sorry that I do not have a quick fix or easy
answer for you on this one, but this set will require board replacement
in order to get it running again. Please let me know if there is
anything else I can do for you, I will be happy to assist in any way
possible.
All of these boards are board level repair, you need to replace the defective board in order to repair the tv set.
I'm not sure about your electronic or tv repair background, but if
you have any,and some equipment(multimeter),you could try to fix this
yourself.
The Y sustain board is the one to the left from power supply(from the back).
Check any fuse on this board-if any is open=replace the Y sustain.
Same thing for the Z sustain-the one far to the right from the back)
if no open fuse on any of the Y sustain or Z sustain-then some
voltage readings will be necessary to diagnose the defective board.
-Vy,is a voltage on Y board-if is too low,disconnect the Y buffer
and check again.I voltage comes back up(around-190V,see the exact value
on the panel label),then replace the Y buffer.
If still to low, then replace the Y sustain.
It may seem confusing, but these are the steps for a complete diagnose!
There is a least probability of screen being bad. However, the above causes seems to be the main.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
