This is a common problrm of Robinair 34700Z series machine.so don't worry just do the following :- 1# Verify the ISV tank is not overfilled.if full, remove refrigerant from tank. 2# Verify if there is high pressure in the tank.Purge excess air from the tank manually.( Open air purge hose from the tank, then press tank valve as needed) 3#Check the high pressure switch for proper operation,if not then replace high pressure switch.Hope this will solve your problem.

SOURCE: Hi, my robinair 34700Z dispays

You can try the following:1# Check (In main manifold assy.) recovery solenoid (No-1) and make sure coil is not burne or may need to rebuild. If so,replace new coil or rebuild solenoid flunger.2# Check (In small manifold back side of the machine) Inlet low & high side solenoids (small solenoid's No-10/11, and No-13/14) is receiveng power & opening properly.
Also you may need to calibrate pressure transducer or replace new one.
Hope this will help you. Good luck!

Robinair 34700z will only fill 1/2 of recommended refrigerant

Try running the compressor for a while, then see if you can get more into the system on the low side, not the high side while it is running, until the sight glass on receiver dryer clears from being milky.

34700z only charges about .5 lbs to 1.0lbs, asks to start engine to help draw freon in. still won't charge any more. where should i start

The machine requires a min amout of 6lbs to even charge. but if you are showing any amout charging it is not the machine its self. you are looking at may be bad hoses or couplers. it is common in the winter months to have charge issues if the unit is not above 70 degrees F. dont forget there are cars/trucks out there that no matter how hard you try you can not complete a charge on the high side and you must switch over to a low side charge

Robinair model 34288 will not stop recovering

what is the pressure reading on your guages? if it is below 0 if so the vacuum pump should kick on. if the vacuum pump keeps turning on and off check the software version on the machine if it is not 3.09 or 3.11 the software needs updated contact your local robinair service center. if it is not the software then the recovery solenoid may be sticking closed and will need replaced.
