Tv wont turn on used it for two months and one day it turns on then the power led light flashes and the opc led light flashes but nothing at all on the screen
Same problem. TV worked night before and then would turn on but no picture or sound. Power and OPC lights blinking. I couldn't change the channel or get to the menu.
I disconnected the coaxial cable and the power for a few minutes and then plugged it back in (electric) but left the cable off. I got a message that it couldn;t get a signal. At that point I was able to change the channels. I plugged the cable line back in and everything worked fine... Good luck!!!
I've read online that upgrading to the latest firmware sometimes
resolves this issue. That's kind of shooting in the dark though - I
personally would not feel completely confident that a FW flash would
actually resolve the issue (as it could still be lurking beneath
somewhere, waiting to surface again). If you have no warranty, then
the FW flash is not a bad option. It's relatively easy and virtually
impossible to screw up!
Another option is to order a replacement (new or used) main power board, and swap it into the TV (or pay someone to do it). It seems the power circuit board is a common culprit for this issue. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, then open up your TV and see if you can tell which component is failing, then hit eBay for a replacement:

However, if you're still under warranty, then I imagine you've figured out by
now that your best bet is to contact Sharp to fix this issue. Mine was
luckily under the extended (15-month) factory warranty when this started happening to me. I was 13+ months out from date of purchase. Sharp
support confirmed a tech needed to come out for an all-day appointment
to troubleshoot the TV (I have the monstrous 65" Aquos). Thank goodness for the extra 3 month warranty
I got when signing up for the Aquos Advantage club! Otherwise, my
$3400 investment might have cost me at least $700-$800 to stay online - only ONE
year out from purchase! If I would have known about the frequency and common nature of this problem, I would not have hesitated on buying the additional 3-year protection during my first year as an owner. Now I know to research product defects a bit more before opting out of a warranty for a multi-thousand dollar purchase!
In any case, I'll post the root cause of my issue (same symptom - OPC and power lights flash three times, then pause, and repeat indefinitely until TV is unplugged), once the Sharp tech leaves my place this coming week. Keep in mind that my root cause may not be the same as yours, even though the error codes are the same. :)
Good luck with your issue!
The solution to this problem ...and i think most of everyone's problem is that when purchasing a set ,you do not get certain help documents to ensure your not just messing something up so a tech is needed , with that said , you need to update your firmware (software). this may sound dumb ,but it works ..get a flash drive (2g and under).format it in a FAT partition only.no one has been informed about this unreleased info ..copy your files to this and go by the manual ..this is failsafe .
I had the same flashing power/opc light problem, with my tv freezing and going black. My signal is OTA via an antenna. Turns out, channel seven was the only one having the problem, so I'm assuming there was a problem with the signal. I've also periodically had problems with channel 9. Try another station.
I have two Sharp flat screens one is 2.5 and the other 3.5 years old. Both died last night. We were at dinner and came home there was a storm while we were out. We have a third TV and it is fine. We are unable to turn the power light on both of the sets - dead. We bought a new TV and it is working fine where the dead was placed. We have ComCast cable and did not have a cable box. What do you suggest - should we put them into the trash or try and get them repaired.

The night before, the tv was working fine. Woke up next morning, power and OPC lights flashing: both lights flash once and then power light flashes twice. Called Sharp customer services and they told me that if thos lights are flashing, something inside the tv is broken and you got to get it repaired... we'll see what it is...
oome on pc light is flashing tv wont come on
tv wont turn on green opc and power light fash together twice and then the opc three times by its self.
power and opc lights flash once together and then power light flashes twice.
The red light flashes to green when the power button is pressed, then turns red and nothing comes up on the screen...
I have the 46" Sharp LCD TV. Worked fine, beautiful picture and sound ... but a few times, I've put it on first thing in the morning - the power light went on, but the OPC didn't ... and the screen was blank. It took me 15 minutes to get it back on again. Wondering if I should return this before the 30-day policy is up...
I have a sharp aquos lc-32da5u tv. When I turn tv on power led light flashes and opc light flashes on and off. No picture or sound. TV is only 3 yrs old
My Sharp Aquos is having the same problem, when I turn on the unit, the power light comes on with a delayed click, then the power light and opc light flashes 3 times with no power going to the screeen.
Ditto: OCD power indicator light flashes three times. Nothing on the screen at all.
