SOURCE: Kenmore Sewing Machine model # c877.15

I have an old Kenmore and here are the directions from my manual: 1. Draw thread from spool through bobbin winder tension discs. 2. Wind thread around an empty bobbin several times. 3. Place bobbin onto bobbin winder shaft with thread coming from rear of bobbin. Push bobbin winder latch against bobbin until it clicks. 4. Release clutch by turning clutch knob toward you. Start machine.

SOURCE: I need to load the bobbin for my singer 247, I have no manual

I am a veteran seamstress and I may be able to help you. it sounds as though you just have the wrong needle in the machine or the needle is in backwards.. Machine needles are different lengths according to what machine it is. The needle could also be dull on the point. Try this and see if it helps. Also your local sew shop can help you no charge if you just go in and talk with them. The techs enjoy helping for the most part I have discovered.

Should my machine have a bobbin case or do I just drop the bobbin straight in?

the bobbin is the bit that you put the thread on
it then drops /fits in the bobbin case
when you put the bobbin in the case you have to pull the thread around until you find a slot and pull the thread around under a flat spring
then you drop the lot into a bobbin case carrier
go google and type in-- user manual for( make and model) sewing machine and that will give you a site with a pdf version down load on how to basically set up the machine to sew
Other than that take it to a service center for any type of sewing machine and they will probably have any missing parts or be able to get the parts if required

Vintage Tough and Sew Model # 628 PRESSER FOOT QUESTION!

You should be able to figure out which shank your machine has here:

http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/sewing-machine-presser-feet.aspx

If you have the manual, it should show you how to change the presser feet.

SINGER Instruction Manual pdf model 628

If your machine and presser foot look like the one in the video, the screw on the left side of the presser foot should be what holds the presser foot in place.

hi there,
on my manual 1581 kenmore show figure on how you thread your bobbins and upper thread.
to thread bobbin insert the thread on one hole of winder holding thread and rotate thread on counter clockwise rotation several times, loop the thread on tension thread and insert bobbins winder on winder shaftat top of your sewing machine push the latch to lock bobbin winder
pull the handwheel to disengage the clutch and to move the winder free rotation.
press the foot pedal to run your winder and thread your bobbins be sure on counterclock wise rotation.
if winder is full of thread this will automatically disengage the shafting winder from clutch.

Every thing is missing

Go to www.managemyhome.com and you can download a free manual there. That will give you the directions to operate the machine as well as the Parts Numbers for any accessories you may want. I bought this same machine a few weeks ago. I have tested out almost every stitch on it, & almost the only 2 presser feet I have needed have been the Zigzag Foot (A) and the Satin Stitch Foot (F). Of course, if you want to do buttonholes or zippers, you will want hte Buttonhole Foot (R) and the Zipper Foot (E). Parts Numbers for ordering are listed for every part on page 6 of the manual. Good luck!

I took apart my bobbin case, plate andbobbin holder. I can

I had the same problem and can't find my Owner's Manual. I found the answer on-line. Hopefully, you have the same type of bobbin casing. To get the answer, go to www.startsewing.co.uk and choose "How to thread a Sewing Machine". If you have the same type of bobbin casing, you should be able to figure out the proper placement of the parts by looking at the one in the demonstration. I am thrilled (!) and hope this works for you, too.

check out the site sewingmanuals.com and see if they have your manual there. it's not free, but for about $8-10 you can download the manual and have it within minutes....another site that i was able to find my manuals was in sewusa.com. try that way if you haven't figured out how to refill the bobbin.
