My Suzuki 650 2004 savage won't start. I put a new battery in it. I checked the fuse. I get nothing. No lights, I put a trickle charger on it but it wouldn't even show that it was charging. @

try the connections on the starter and the solenoid they could have corrosion which will affect the starter.if they are corroded just clean them up with a wire brush.

At 55 amps you could charge the batteries on the space shuttle. A 2 amp charger is plenty. You cooked the three year old battery so a new one will be needed. Get the new battery then worry about the fuses only if the bike is still dead. The fuses are under the battery side cover if I recall correctly. Look under the seat if not by the battery.

it sounds like dead cel in one of the batteries, try having batteries loaded tested.

It sounds like your battery is no good. have it load tested a good battery under a load shouldn't drop below 11 volts. if you starter button is only dimming the light it is a good guess that your getting power to the swtich and the starter motor but the battery dosen't have a juice to turn the motor.
good luck

Hi Linda. Sometimes if there is a blown fuse or faulty connector on the battery leads, the charger thinks the batteries are charged as the voltage coming out of the charger rises to the high level. Some chargers will cut out if this happens. It is probably not the charger.
Make sure the batteries are plugged in correctly, sometimes during transport they will get knocked and become disconnected.
Also make sure that the battery terminals are not loose where the wires connect to the batteries.
Good luck. Neil.
