If the light on the outside of the stand-up freezer is not working, first check the light bulb to see if it needs to be replaced. If the bulb is not the issue, then check the wiring connections to ensure they are properly connected. If the connections are loose, tighten them to see if that resolves the issue. If these steps do not work, it may be necessary to replace the light socket or contact a professional to assess and repair the issue.

SOURCE: kenmore upright freezer no digtal light no motor running

This could be a bad controller since you had a power outage, or even a bad motor. Look in your operator's manual and see if there is a reset button somewhere near the motor.

Unless you are well versed in electronics and have the proper equipment, you'll be unable to diagnose the control board anyway.

As a last ditch effort, which sometimes works, unplug it for about 5 minutes and then plug it back in. Make sure your thermostat is turned to the correct setting.

SOURCE: no light on door and motor not running

Have you checked your breaker switches in the circuit box? If tripped, the breaker will rest in a half way position.

Turn it all the way off and then back on.

Try to plug somthing that you know it works ,in that outlet ,and if it doesn't work or goes on and off , the problem is in the outlet, but if works without trouble ,the problem could be in the freezer plug , the cord or the cord conections to the freezer.

SOURCE: plugged a new tumble dryer into an extension lead

you have more than likely ruined the control board on the refrige,a dryer and refrigerator should each be on their own dedicated circuit, they use an enormous amount of current to start, and even if one is running and the other starts thats enough to trip even a 30 amp receptacle, and furthermore extension cord use on these types of appliances even a large gauge cord i.e. 12 ga. that will carry 20 amps is not even a good idea because of voltage drop,as this causes motors to draw excessive current and over heat the motors and reduce appliance efficiency too

Need to know how Kelvinator FD830 upright freezer temp lights work. 3 lights located on the top right outside corner.

The Kelvinator FD830 upright freezer has three temperature indicator lights located on the top right outside corner to show the current temperature range inside the freezer. The green light indicates that the temperature is within the safe operating range, while the yellow light indicates that the temperature is rising and nearing the upper limit. The red light indicates that the temperature has exceeded the safe operating range and may lead to food spoilage.

The wARNING LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON , ON MY SWAN SR4150W CHEST FREEZER...AND IT IS VERY HOT ON THE OUTSIDE, ANY IDEAS

the outside is the condenser exchanging heat to the air and indicates that the system is working
you only have a problem if the inside is not freezing.
constantly running can be that the setting is too low numbers i -20 with 20 the coldest and the colder the setting the more loss through the insulation so the motor keeps running
the door or lid open or too frequently being opened
the inside iced up and needs defrosting
The light could simply be a power on light

What can be the reason be for my stand up freezer not getting cold

Your freezer is stuck in the self defrost cycle. It could be a timer or heater issue. You have to check the specifics of your make and model; sometimes just unplugging for 10-20 minutes will reset a timer / unstick a heater; if that works you'll still need to keep an eye on it and eventually have it replaced. Door warning says hi temp, door adjar, light out

Good Afternoon Floyd,

I see that you are having trouble with your Frigidaire freezer, model# FFU17K1CW, stating "HI TEMP" and that the door ajar light is out. The model number that has been provided does not show that it has a "door ajar" light. What I recommend would be giving your appliance a hard reset, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at the circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. If you are still having trouble with the HI TEMP light showing, please respond back with your model number which is shown inside your refrigerator on either the right or left hand wall so I may better assist you. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a Frigidaire upright freezer. Power coming into freezer. Light inside works, and the temp setting on the door works. Not getting any power through the system to the compressor.

Contact a professional. The power supply source needs to be testing to the compressor and see if the power is fine, or if the compressor is faulty and not drawing needed power.

The light on my chest freezer will flicker on and off when I open the door. It will only remain on when the door is in a certain position. How do I fix this? Secondly, the red "on" light on...

Both light flickering probably indicates a problem with the plug or the cord. If it was just the inside light I would suspect the door switch, but both light would indicates an open short in the wires or plug.

Check the plug connection at the wall and see if it is loose. While unplugged check the cord for any nicks or cuts. Plug something else into the same wall receptacle , like a light and see if the power to the receptacle is ok.

If none of the above work then it is time for a qualified repair person.

An orange light is on at the outside bottom of our stand-up freezer Is there a problem??

The orange light is usually just an indicator there is power going to it. If it goes out, you have a power problem (tripped breaker or something)

Does the light on the outside of freezer stay on . I bought a used freezer. It is a frigidaire commercial upright (frost free) Does the light on outside of freezer stay on all the time? I have no manual....

Normally there is a Green light showing that power is on

A Yellow one for fast freeze and a Red one for under temperature

The outer casing is well insulated from the inside otherwise the freezer motor would run none stop without cooling the contents so the temperature of the outside casing will reflect the room temperature not the intenal
