The fusible link is essentially an in line fuse on the positive terminal of the battery. To determine if the fusible link has been blown , one test lead of your ohmmeter should be on the positive terminal of the battery and the other test lead should be on the end of the fusible link going to the circuit it protects. If the link is ok, then the ohmmeter will read the same resistance as when the test leads are touched together, or very low resistance, usually less than 0.2 ohms. Replace if bad. Auto parts stores should have them. My preference would be NAPA

Look underneath the dashboard, just to the right of the steering column. You will see a black rectangle with the fuse diagram printed on the cover.
