SOURCE: Poulan Wild Thing 18 Inch replace starter spring?

A new spring comes wound tight enough to be dropped into place in the starter housing (Easiest).

I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection, both hands and no women around work area!). I'm right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely inserted. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. It will require about 2 turns of pretension to retract properly.
If you're lucky you can pull the cord out enough for a pretension then slightly raise and add the withdrawn cord to the spool.

Both methods require about 2 turns of pretension to rewind the cord when pulled.

..basically, my hardly used stapler wasnt "cocking"...the handle could be squeezed with little resistance..certainly not as much as when it was working...so Time to trash it? I took it apart.

probably fond that it wouldn't until you pressed it on something that pushed the pin back up into the body of the unit.
now that you have it apart unless you know how to reassemble it then the bin is the best place

How to put the spring back in the handle of Arrow T50 Stapler?

I struggled for 30 min with screw drivers and pliers... before coming up with this, then it took only 30 seconds.
Here's my hack.
1 Take some thin string or in my case I used maybe 12 inches of old fishing line. I wrapped it around the part of the spring that needs to be pushed back. I tried wrapping it once, but it kept slipping off. So I found wrapping it around 3-4 times did the trick.
2 I then fed the other end of the fishing line to the back of the handle, pushed on the spring with my finger as far as I could to get it into position, and when I reached that point, I pulled on the fishing line to hold it in place. Once I put tension on it, it held so I could line up the holes and slide in the pin.
3 I then pulled on the fishing line to remove it from the housing. You are all set.

My PaperPro One finger 15 sheet power Stapler just stopped stapling. ???

For PaperPro Prodigy. Best stapler I have used but after about 8 years the flat steel staple driver broke. To repair, remove the bottom by forcing it back, force the stapler halves apart with a flat screw driver and the top comes off. The springs and levers are on one half and they will not fly apart. I couldn't find the staple driver part (on the left) so go to the store and buy a new stapler.

I have an RYOBI 24V String Trimmer - RY24200. At the same time the head broke & stopped spinning, I heard something loose in the head. When I took the head apart I found 2 screws had come loose from...

This is a very late answer to your question, but I had exactly the same problem with the screws rattling around in the head. I took the casing apart very slowly because I figured there was a spring for the swivel mechanism that might fly out. The spring you describe lays in a groove on the casing piece that attaches to the shaft close to the head casing. You will see near the top of the head casing, a small, plastic pin that will sit in the end of this spring to hold it in place. Carefully set the head piece back into the shaft casing to prevent the spring from popping back out. I did this repair in about 10 minutes and I'm not even that technically adept.

My craftsman easy fire stapler diagram

Mine stopped working last night. I took it apart and was able to reassemble it properly.

When both sides are rejoined the tip of the spring has to be inserted in the hole on the corresponding side (note red arrows on both pics)

This is a great stapler when it's working.

See above

317b762.jpg4a538aa.jpg067f3f0.jpg5077a62.jpgca392ef.jpge76904e.jpg77309d5.jpgThis is an older b&d stapler but the designs are similar in most cases. The position of the springs, and the order you put them in, are an obvious factor.
The parts that overlap go in after the parts underneath.
When you have one half assembeled you should not have to force the cover to go on, it should just sit in place while you put the screws back in.
If the handle coil spring and the flat spring are not seated properly the top cover will not go on easily.
These types of staplers are designed to clear from jamming without being taken apart, the staples, under normal circumstances, do not have access to the body of the unit past the flat spring.
As with any tool forcing the tool after a fault will only make matters worse, I would try some light oil or spray lubricant first before taking anything apart, these springs can be a pain to get back in, which is why I have not taken this one any further apart. Hope this helps you. If it does please let fixya know.
