1) Connect the converter box to a good digital TV antenna and position the antenna as high and as close to a window as possible.
2) Set the converter box 'output switch' to an unused channel for your area. (Usually 2, 3 or 4.)
3) Connect the output of the converter box to the 'antenna input' on the TV.
4) Turn on both units and set the TV channel to the same output channel selected above.
5) Now select TV channels using the converter box remote only. The TV should receive all converted channels on the preselected channel.
6) Adjust the TV antenna for the best reception for all channels.

The digital box should have a round threaded output connector on its back panel. These are usually marked "OUT TO TV" or "RF OUT" or something similar. There may also be a slide switch nearby to select channel 3 or 4 output to the TV. On some boxes the output channel selection is through and on-screen menu. You only need to connect the output of the digital box to the TV's antenna connector, then tune the TV to channel 3 or 4 depending on the box setting. Leave the TV on that channel all the time and do your channel changing on your digital box using its remote control.

If your TV has an AV input for connecting a device like a VCR or DVD player, you can probably connect the digital box that way. Most boxes provide stereo audio and video outputs, and you will get a clearer picture and sound if your TV has the input jacks. If your TV is not stereo and has just a single white input jack for audio (instead of red and white ones for stereo right and left), you'll need a Y-adapter to join the audio outputs from the box together to feed into the TV.

On the off chance you have a digital box with no RF output (I've never seen one since they need to work with older TV sets, but I don't know evey model), and your TV doesn't have AV inputs, you need an RF converter. The converter takes the audio and video signals from the digital box and generates the channel 3 or 4 TV signal that your set can pick up with its tuner. You can connect the digibox (digital converter box) or DTA to the TV using coax jumpers and tuning the TV set to channel 3 or 4 in some cases.

Connect the input (wire from the wall or floor) to the input on the digital box.

Connect the output of the digital box to the input of the TV set.

Turn on TV and digital box, tune TV to channel 3 using the TV remote or the buttons on the TV itself.

Use the digital box remote to change channels. You may need a code to program the remote to work the TV set.

If you are feeding the signal from your digital converter into the TV antenna input, I would input the converters signal to the TVs video input instead. I am assuming your converter has a video output signal and left & right audio so you will need cables for your audio also. If your converter has only rf output for the TV tuner input it is generally on either channel 3 or 4 and there may be a switch to set this. It is possible that when the TV scanned for channels the converter was off and it did not find a signal on 3 or 4. If you can get the TV to re-scan, be sure the converter is turned on and on an active channel. All your channel selection should be via the converter after that and the TV simply stays on 3 or 4. I would suggest looking in to getting the original remote. Try partstore.com and see if they have one for your model.

I might be missing something, but you are describing a converter box that converts digital signals from an antenna to analog.
The converter box will be set to channel 3, and you should set your tv's to channel 3 as well.
Using the remotes that came with the tv's go into setup and if available as an option, you will find an option to select cable/antenna or automatic. Select automatic or antenna and save. If there is a selector switch on the back of the tv's, set to 3.

Connect antenna cable into input, and use supplied cable to connect from the output of the converter to your tv.

plug in power supply for converter box, tune tv to channel 3 then follow instructions to setup converter box including channel scan.
When done, the converter remote will control everything. However, the tv volume control will work even though the converter remote will have volume as well. The tv remote as well is needed to shut off or turn on tv. These functions can on most tv's be performed on the set as well.

No codes are required. The converter remote will work on any tv.

If you want to use both tv's then you will need a splitter on the output of the converter to send the signal to both tv's. Only one channel can be viewed at a time.

Viewing separate Chanel's requires a second converter box and a splitter connected to the antenna cable for viewing separate channels.

The converter box takes place of the tv's tuner and in essence disables it.

You should be able to just connect the satellite box A/V output to the A/V inputs on the tv without the converter box. Most converter boxs are set up for the tv to be on channel 3/4. Just input the number 3/4 or whatever into the remote of the tv and press enter.
