Where can i get pump seals for honda 5hp cold pressure washer , i have no other details on this washer

  • speed_line Aug 16, 2009

hi mate thanks, in fact after research, the pump is a comet unit, taking it off, it showed 3 rods which i believe are ceramic coated, i filled the the breaks with metal filler and polished them and replaced all the seals which were on special order, and bingo ! one perfect working unit at a cost of $50. Thanks for your help.

Doubt very much if the unit is produced by honda themselves ,but rather sone else has produced it ,and used a honda motor.i have made several myself.it could be agood quality italian pump, best way would be to go to several pressure pump suppliers and have a look at the differentpumps on the different machines untill you see one the same as yours..alternatively take the whole unit to a reputable company and i`m sure they will be able to tell you in aflash------------youdoit

The pump is leaking some gray fluid

Gray fluid is usually indicative of old oil with water mixed into it. First you have to determine if the fluid is coming out of the motor or pressure pump. Then change the oil in that, or both, and then watch the condition of the oil when you use the washer. With new oil, it won't turn gray but will get a milky coloration to it. There shouldn't be any way for water to get into the motor oil short of the engine being sprayed directly with high pressure water. If water is getting into the pump oil you'll have to check the seals inside the pump.

Honda 5HP pressure washer. When you press handle to get pressured water, motor does not rev up to give you high pressure.

Most small pressure washers do not have an automatic throttle control to increase engine speed on demand (activated by trigger on wand). You must set the governor/throttle to about max. to get the rated pressure. A honda motor produces 5 hp when it is turning about 3600 rpm. To increase the life of the pump, use about 80 % of capacity of the pump and increase only for stubborn debris.

I have a honda 5hp pressure washer.I cleaned the carb and now when starts the gas fills the block!

The float needle is not closing all the way and fuel keeps leaking in to the carburetor. Replace the needle and make sure the float is not damaged and that the float pin is clean.

Oil is coming out of the lance end when in use . it doesn't come out all the time every 30 seconds or so . it comes out whether on hot or cold . karcher hds550c

sounds like the seals & o'rings are faulty.get the model number of pump and purchase a kit for the pump.replace all seals and o' rings.this will stop the oil from the pump going through the nozzle.

I have an Excell model XR2600 pressure washer that will not start. I have had it stored for 3 years. I drained the gas tank and carb and put in fresh gas. Is there a fuel shutoff on this model ? It has a...

If it's been sitting for 3 years most likely the carb is gummed up. If it's getting spark, you could try a small shot of starting fluid into the carb. If it runs on this you know it's a fuel problem. Best bet would get all the MOTOR data, and buy a carb kit from you local lawn and garden equipment parts supplier. . Remove carburator and clean and install kit. Use sta-bil when you put it away next time, but even that only works about a year or so.

Take a small diameter wire and poke thru the discharge hole of the spray head to clean out.
Second time in 6 months that I had the same problem. The problem is alway in the spray head.

No high preasure at nozzle

Try starting the washer up without a nozzle clicked in and purging water through the pump, shut it down and install the nozzle and restart, if the motor lugs then it is making pressure, if the pump squirts water out of the by-pass immediately and or constantly it may be a stuck bypass and not a bad pump.
