What do you do when in your laptop computer say the windows activation expire or windows is not genuine

Sounds like you need to activate your Windows operating system by entering your Windows Vista product key and activating online or by calling Microsoft's activation hotline. Once the genuine Microsoft operating system is activated, it will never expire.

You can get the product key, but the problem is whenever you go online it will detect the activation history as a expired. It is better that if you have genuine windows version, then download Microsoft's free Security Essential.

Sorry, Windows 7 genuine edition is not free. You can go directly to www.microsoft.com. Just download if there is a free trial but that would expire for a few days. Hope that your not going to use pirated copies of windows, for microsoft could easily determine your software if it is genuine or not especially when you activate the updates.

i hv windows7 ultimate in my computer bt its activation has expired. On desktop its written dat this copy of window is nt genuine. So wat to do further to get my system error free. When you say vista ultimate was installed, do you mean you installed it yourself?
Is the COA on the bottom of the laptop for Vista Ultimate?
If the COA is not for ultimate( usually home or premium) then the copy of Windows re installed may not be genuine.
If all is well and it is a genuine copy then a call to microsoft is your only option(IF it is a retail copy)
If it is an OEM copy of windows you may have to pay for a new key

That message pops up when you're using either a pirated version of windows, or when your trial of the OS has expired. You'll just have to buy a fresh copy of Windows(vista/7), which includes "Windows genuine advantage validation.", which in it's turn is what you need to get rid of those pesky messages.

The main issue is that your windows got expire and its time to activate it once again. It needs to be activated always in order to stay genuine.

To do that either you have to purchase the windows key or activate it via a tool.

go to softpedia.com. download the cd key reader. Run it, you will be able to view you cd key. If activation has some problems, just call microsoft, and they will guide you to activate it over the phone.
