My RYOBI 24 v battery wont charge. The charger flashes red and won't change to green. Is it the battery or the charger?

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

sound to me like you have a bad battery, a lot of ryobi batterys don't last like they should i have had the same problem, but my battery was less than a year old and i took it back and they give me a new one.

Yep, not the batteries, mine is doing the same thing but my second charger works fine with the same batteries

For others with the same problem (flashing red light won't go off)...make sure you FIRMLY PUSH the battery down onto the charger and engage the latches. Simply resting the battery on the charger will not work.
