Hi, this printer is "clever" in that you don't adjust the thickness setting it does it itself.
It does this based on the paper type you set in the printer properties, see the table below for the different types of paper it will accept & the setting you need to use.
For this paper Select this paper type setting Plain paper, sheets Epson Premium Ink Jet Plain Paper Epson Bright White Ink Jet Paper plain papers Epson Ultra Glossy Photo Paper Epson Ultra Glossy Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper Epson Premium Glossy Epson Premium Semigloss Photo Paper Epson Premium Semigloss Epson Glossy Photo Paper Epson Glossy Epson Matte Paper - Heavyweight Epson Double-Sided Matte Paper Epson Matte Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Cards Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Epson Photo Stickers Epson Photo Stickers Envelopes Envelope

You can print thick 3 only from bypass tray.

There is a Paper Thickness lever on the left hand side of the front of the printer. If you go to the following website:
You can get the Product Information Guide, or the User's Guide. Both of these will describe which setting you should use for a wide variety of paper. For normal single sheets of paper the lever should be in the down or "L" position. If you are using envelopes the guide instructs that the lever should be in the up or "H" position. They give you a complete table with the appropriate settings to use depending on the thickness.
Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue. Should you need further information or assistance please do not hesitate to let us know.
