SOURCE: i have a bosch rotary hammer 11245evs and it was

They are filled with a special grease that comes from Bosch. It sounds like the impact bolt or the striker pin in the unit are not moving the way they should. These are the pieces that work together to create the hitting action. About all that can be done now is the unit has to be dismantled to get those to pieces moving again. Bosch makes what they call service packs for all thier hammers. They have all the o-rings and grease to get your hammer working again. A Bosch service center can supply you with the kit. Ask for P/N 1617000225, or they can take care of it for you.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Bosch demolition hammer oozing grease/oil.

Look around there for some O rings we have had this same problem with some of our Bosch hammer drills, and they usually replace a set of seals around the nose of the tool

SOURCE: How do I drain the gear oil from a Bosch Brute

Brute hammer uses special grease sold as service kit. This kit contains enough grease to lube hammer and replacement bolts that hold springs along the bottom. Check www.toolpartsdirect.com for parts and kit. Remove the lower half (tube) of hammer, also remove three bolts that hold springs and remove assembly from tube. Wash out old grease. Grease will be oil-like only when hammer is very hot, otherwise grease is paste-like. Good luck.

Where is the oil filler hole on the bosch 11241evs

There is no oil filler hole - you have to open the gearcase up (#873) to put oil in. If your hammer is leaking and losing oil you should put a service kit in it and fresh oil. Service Pack 1617000430 for Bosch Power Tool eReplacement Parts
As you can see this is an involved process and I would strongly recommend bringing it to a service center to have a qualified tech do this one.

I was using the bosch jack hammer and it just stoped in the middle of the job! i smelt somthing burning and is was an outlet in the basement i was in....i then waited a min and used a different outlet and...

could be quite a few things, check the cord for a break that might have shorted the outlet. Also this tool requires 20 amp service so it could have affected the brushes, switch or other major electrical parts. Unless you are mechanically inclined and have a volt ohms meter I would suggest taking for repair.

Bosch Jack Hammer

I worked at a tool rental center while I was going to college and learned a great deal about equipment and power requirements for tools. Large electric hammers draw a great deal of amps thus created a problem on construction sites. Bosch and other brands made hammers such as yours that would would work on long extension cords that worked off of special generators such as this one: http://www.southern-tool.com/store/multiquip_gdp-5000h_generator.html . This miltiquip generator has a special outlet for three phase at 230v. Your hammer was probably designed to work on a generator such as this. Hope this helps, enjoy.
