My nokia c3 downloads whatsapp but keeps on asking to update is there a setting incorrect

Here is what you have to do.First, backup your phone.

1) Have a wifi connection ready i.e.the setting and password, username etc are set in your nokia C3. Make sure it is working before you do the next step. Remember that when I say wifi, it is not the connection provided by your default telco (for example, in Saudi Arabia, if you use STC, the wifi connection is not the STC, it can be the wifi from other source like KFC free wifi, starbuck or even your home wifi)



2) In Settings >> Configuration, delete all the Default config. settings. Make sure it is empty.

3) Now connect to the wifi. It should allow you to verify your number and start using the whatsapp like normal.

4) Restore backup, make sure only the configuration is installed. Not others. After that, you are free to choose either to stay connected to wifi in order to use the whatsapp or change back to the telco of your telephone. Good thing is that the whatsapp chat does not use the same protocol as the "verify your number" process of the whatsapp application. That means, you can use whatsapp like normal when you are away from the wifi we set in step (1).

The "Could not connect http error #50" problem occurs when you are not subscribed to the data plan of your telco. The default setting of WAP/3G cannot support the whatsapp verification process. It needs other data connection setting which is included only in the data plan package offered by the telco.
The problem will occur again when you want to refresh your favorite list, and at the same time the default config setting from your telco are listed as "default" in Defaulf config. settings. If you cannot refresh your list, you need to repeart step (1) again. Be sure to backup your phone regularly. Make it as a habit.

For S60 symbian operated nokia mobiles: The whatsapp messenger is free for 1 year and its the trail period.And after the trail period i.e., 1 year you have to purchase it for $0.99 USD/year.So,if you've used it for 1 year then the trial period is over and you gotta purchase it.

For S40: I think your phone C3 is S40 and whatsapp for your mobile is not currently supported by the company and also the carriers Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Tata Docomo and possibly others in India are currently unsupported.So wait for some time until the support is extended by the company

For Nokia C3-01:
1. go to the folder where you keep Whatsapp (usually Main Menu - Applications - Extras - Games folder or Application folder)
2. press left down corner button Options
3. Scroll down to Mark/ Mark all
4. Choose Mark and tick Whatsapp then
5. press left down corner button Options
6. the very first option is: DELETE MARKED!!! Press...
HOORRRAY, THE MOST ANNOYING APP IS DELETED!!!

Nokia C3-00 uses Symbian S40, and unfortunately there is no whatsapp or Skype for it.

Make sure you are connected to a 3G network or have wifi on (i dont know if C3 has the wifi capability). Or try reinstalling the Whatsapp from the website itself, as you might have the older version and it might not work.
