If the battery is under 10.5 volts, the charger will try to recondition the battery for about an hour. After that it will either charge normally, or show the bad battery symbol. Look at this review f three chargers with yours starting at about 7 minutes. The charger starts at 6.1 volts so your charger may be bad:

Take your charger out on a boat and dump it into the sea. Then go to the store and buy a new one.

SOURCE: Battery Dont Charge

jpierre's solution (in another thread) was right on the money. Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

In short, it works like a charm.

SOURCE: Battery charger light flash

Its pretty simple to fix. The lithium battery has just depolarized. Just buy a 9V battery.... put them end to end... the 9V and the lithium and touch the metal parts of them. hold for 20 seconds... if it doesn't work, lick the 9V to conduct the electricity better.. hold for 20 seconds and put directly on the charger... I just did this, and it is charging as we speak! good luck!

SOURCE: Battery will not charge

I found this while searching to find an answer to solve my problem. It worked! Some say that it took them about 20 times... it took me about 7. Be patient and just keep trying! Hope this helps!

My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.
ylu1 writes:
I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps.

SOURCE: flashing lights

I had the same problem. 1 of four way's can fix it. #1 Put a batt. that has a little charge in that flashing spot 1st. and see if that works. #2 put the batt. in that flashing slot first and then in the 1st slot, If that did'nt work, #3 Put Batt. in backwards for 1 sec. in and out fast. and I do say very fast, In that flashing spot. #4 buy a new one. The one that fixed mine was #1 and it stoppppped flashing, The order I put them in was - 3-1-2-4 I put in #3 batt. first, it was the one flashing And it worked, You may have a bad batt. or it's on it's way out, but try It. worked for me!

What size power pack would run 8 amp mobility scooter charger for 12 hours.

'power pack'? Do you mean the battery or the battery charger? Depending on the make, some are 12 volts, but some are 24 volts.

And by 'run an 8 amp mobility charger for 8 hours' is also ambiguous. Do you want a charger that will charge in 8 hours, or do you want batteries that will run the scooter for 8 hours.

All questions need 'make model (what is is)' as first 3 words. I can answer all your questions given that information. Click Comment under this message, don't make another post. You can also Edit that information into your question or I can if you answer within a couple of hours.

Just bought a Ruobi drill with 18V Lithium Batteries. Been chatging for over an hour. Still not charged. Just the bottom Green light stays on. Is this normal? How long does it take?

The Ryobi charger will flash green as it charges and then remain steady or slowly flashing green when fully charged. Flashing red means testing and if it remains steady or slowly flashing red it is defective.

I don't have a manual for my small Black & Decker Smart Charger. I'm trying to charge the battery on my '07 Honda Rebel 250cc. It has settings for 2/6/12 volt batteries. How do I hook it...

Hi,

You just need to set black & decker charger to 12V . Don't make mistake while connecting + / - leads. + lead usually come with Red color cable. You can use the AVO tester to justify the lead cable. The charging time is normally about 10 -12 hours (or just just check the status on your charger display). If your charger does not has trickle charge facility, you have to disconnect your charger after 12 hours continuous use.

Also, you can find the guidance about your charger here :

What does the flashing red light mean?!?

The flashing red probably means that the charger is working correctly and is indeed charging the batteries. The light should turn green when charging is complete after anything from 1 to 16 hours depending on how this charger works.

Do the following test: Fit the charger with your batteries and connect it to the mains. After 1 hour check if there is a detectable temperature rise in the batteries. You can do this without interrupting the charge cycle by touching the cells with the back of your fingers. If the temperature is still low, let it continue for another 15 hours or so, checking every now & then for any temperature increase. Should the temperature rise more than a few degrees, then stop the charging by removing the charger from the mains. Should the red lamp remain flashing after 16 hours, then I suspect you to have a defective charger.

My Ryobi 18V 1-Hour Charger does not get past testing phase. It just continually has the flashing red light. Can this be fixed or is a new one required?

Purchaseed Roybi P2102 cordless blower at Home Depot yesterday. Put battery on charger for 12 hours and it would not get past the "test" phase. Called Ryobi customer service 800-860-4050 (got a live person quickly), was told I had two options: take the blower back to HD for refund/exchange OR take it to the Tool Rental or Pro Desk at HD and they can test the charger/battery and can provide a replacement if defective, all FREE of course.

12v 1.5amp fully auto, alwyas worked, hook up to battery 12v 8.5amph, alwys red light flashed, went solid while charging, then off, or flashed, and off cause was already fully charged. now red light just...

I really don't have any idea as to what you're talking about here other than a battery and maybe a charger. Seems as if you're saying that you have a 12 volt 1.5 amp automatic battery charger connected to a 12 volt, 8.5amph battery but the red light on your charger is blinking. The blinking red light indicates that the charger is not seeing a proper connection such as crossed polarity connection or simply a poor connection. You say that the battery voltage has dropped from 12.5 volts to 9.1 volts with the charger connected. If this is the case, the battery is badly discharged and the charger is not charging the battery for some reason. The charger may be bad but check the connections to make certain they are correct and good. If they are, I'd replace the charger.

Good luck

We have a 11 month old elite traveler scooter. The battery will not take a charge. We have had no previous problems. Any suggestions?

I just fixed this problem in a Go Go Elite that was less than 6 months old. We would plug in the charger and the "charge" light would not turn on, just the "power light" I took out the battery pack (check manual for instructions), removed the cover (8 philips head screws) and checked the voltage on the two batteries. One read 4.5 volts and the other 4.7 volts. They should both read at least 11 volts, ideally 12 volts. Evidently the Pride charger will not work if it detects that the batteries are too low. So I took out one battery at a time and connected a 12 volt auto trickle charger to it for 3 hours on each battery. Checked voltages and it brought them back up to 11.5 volts. I reinstalled the battery pack and then connected the Pride charger and THEN it showed a "Charge" light. I left the pride charger on for 12 hours and it brought it up to full charge.
Advice: Don't let your batteries get too low or the factory charger will not work.

Dead Creative Zen M

Usually this problem is due to the firmware. When the firmware is updated to version 1.62.02, this problem usually will be corrected. The older firmwares have problems in recognizing the battery and allowing the battery to power the unit.

You will need a wall/AC charger for the operation. Plug in the wall charger and USB cable at the same time. Your Zen should power on when connected to direct AC power via the wall charger. Once it is powered on, connect the USB cable to your computer. Then begin the firmware download.

If your Zen does not power on when connected to the wall charger, your unit is dead and its time to replace it or get the motherboard replaced via one of the Repair services offered on this website.

If the upgrade button on the firmware window is not available, it is also time to replace your motherboard due to corruption of a chip on the board.
