My On/Off Switch doesn't work. I turn off the electric on the breaker box so it doesn't come on when I'm not here.

SOURCE: It doesn't turn on. I checked breaker and socket

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a LG dryer "doesn't turn on", however if you could post the complete model number I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing. It would also be helpful if you could clarify what you mean by "it doesn't turn on"...if it won't start or there is no display or anything.

I hope you can appreciate there are many possible scenarios so I'll need to clarify the model number before detailing much of course.
The one thing I'd suggest you try in the meantime unplug the dryer for 30 minutes and see of a control reset will work (depending on the model it may or may not).

Initially it sounds like a control problem...but it could be a poor connection too.Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

My 1998 GMC TOPKICK 7500 head lights quit working but all other lights work what is the problem?

Its should be one of about 3 answers.
1) Under the hood of your truck inside a black plastic box, is a set of fuses and circuit breakers for:
a) electrical items found in the front of the truck, and
b) electrical items which take a large amount of electricity.
Look at the fuses and circuit breakers in there for a problem.

2) You have a switch that turns on the headlights.
It can fail ( but rarely does). It is your dashboard switch.

3) You may have a "high beam/low beam" switch that you activate (like a turn signal switch) to change high to low or visa versa. It can fail.
God bless your efforts.

Electrical on but dryer does not start

Sounds silly, but because it's an electric dryer, it's run on a 220 line. Double check your breaker box to make sure both breakers are in the correct position. If only one breaker is in the correct position, you'll have electrical power, but the drum won't spin.

Switch has worked fine for 2 years and now it works, then doesn't work

Check all connections where any power wires or ground wires are connected. Even on the switches. and yes on the fan itself. Sometimes a wire on a connection will vibrate loose and will work then not work. Make sure they are tightly put together.

Where is the breaker box on 1998 travleze trailer

All travel trailers and motorhomes have different set ups, but the majority of them install the breaker box in the generator compartment, even if it doesn't have a generator installed.

My Kennmore 79363 Gas Range/ Electric Oven electrical doesn't work. Started smelling electrical burning smell, tracked to oven. shut off breaker, smell stoped. Few hours later checked again after...

The person who installed the oven didn't do the connections up tight enough.
I would replace the breaker/power switch with a new one and trim back the wires if the burning is in the breaker. If on the rear of the oven, same applies with badly tightened connections.
If in doubt, call a qualified electrician. That will be better than having a fire!

My lighting timer seemed to have burnt out. We thought that the switch was bad, because light was out - replacement one does not work either.

If I understand correctly you installed a new timer and it does not work.
You posted under EJ351 timer.

Problem sounds like it's electrical instead of timer.

1) Check electricity at wall box where timer is located. Remove both wires from timer. Separate wires for testing. Turn on power. Test each wire to bare ground wire. If box has power, then one wire will light up tester. This is Hot wire. Next test Hot wire to white wires inside box to make sure circuit can be completed to the neutral. If box doesn't have Not or Neutral then check other local boxes on same breaker to find where loose wire is.

2) Check that Load (light, fan, motor) is not burned out ... you can do this by putting regular light switch in place of timer. Box must test positive for Hot and Neutral wire.

3) Check that breaker is delivering 120V. Test from screw on breaker to any bare copper wire inside breaker box. Tighten screw on breaker. There is a white wire associated with black wire on breaker ... track this wire over to neutral busbar and make sure it is tight.

4) If electricity checks out, then timer is suspect. You may have gotten bad timer.

Breaker in panel tripped and won't turn back on

You may have a short circuit to ground fault in the electric cook top. Divide and conquer. Unplug the cook top and try to reset the breaker. If the breaker resets, then you have a problem with the electric cook top. If it doesn’t, then the problem is at the electrical panel side. Either problem will require a qualified technician’s assistance. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Our stove turned on but then turned off and now it doesnt want to start how can we fix it its electric

check your fuse/circuit breaker. Most stoves have a specific fuse or circuit breaker in the power box.
Also, might seem a bit silly, but check if you have a stove switch on the wall near the stove. If that's turned off you won't get it to work :)

F2e0 error on stove

"cycle the circuit breakers" is to turn the switch for the stove at the electric switch box at the main feed of the house electric panel. This is equivalent to unplugging the stove and plugging it back in.

In the old days, a circuit breaker was a "fuse" in the "fuse box"...
