SOURCE: kernel panic

Yes, your hard drive is fine from the stand point that there are no surface damage or bad clusters. What ever system you loaded on the hard drive has to be reinstalled. Good Luck.

SOURCE: MAC PRO dual2.3- freezes, gray screen crash,

All computers will shut them selves off or crash when fans are failing, or have failed. Cooling fans are plugged into the motherboard, and firmware on the MB keeps track of the system fans, along with everything else. If a system fan is failing, or has failed, the signal is sent to shut down. Some PC's will shut down cleanly, others give error messages, and some just freeze up. Of course, Bad RAM, video cards, and hard drives with bad sectors, can also cause problems like you have discribed.
I would write down any error messages, and beep codes, and then look them up online for a place to start.

SOURCE: i mac g4 kernel panic cant boot from CD to format

This message indicates that the CD you are attempting to boot from is a release of the Mac OS which is incompatible with this model of Macintosh. I would recommend a retail disk of Tiger or Panther for this vintage Mac.

it sounds like you've got some bad ram. i'd either replace it or remove one of the sticks altogether until you can find out which one is bad.

Kernal panic alert screen will not respond

Well, if you erase the wrong files, you'll sure get a kernel panic.
To power down your PowerBook when there is a kernel panic on the screen (or any frozen state) you have to hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the Mac shuts off. Then you can restart it.
If you deleted too many of the wrong files, it may not restart to your satisfaction. :-(
