SOURCE: I plugged in my Nad

You need only look inside and follow your nose....The smell will lead you the faulty party, probably in the power supply. Just a power surge problem or something that's been going giving up the ghost.

My NAD C372 integrated amp was working normally everyday. One day, on pushing in the "Power On" button, it did not light up. No response at all.

It could be anything from a blown fuse from a power surge to a shorted capacitor ijn the power supply. There are fuses in all amplifiers. Locate it and test it with an ohmmeter.

NAD C 520 emits faint hum when I turn it on

This is not a problem but may be due to the surge current that occurs due to the charging of the power supply Filter capacitors. This might be made less with some silicone sealant. Best to have a Technician look at it as it could also mean a too high of current draw due to aged and defective Chinese Capacitors- yes the have infiltrated this business too and are the result of many a failures including flat panel display TV's and computer monitors.

Dead NAD M15

Hi,
There are fuse inside Nad M15. If you open the top cove then you can see there are 9 fuses lined up i the circuit board on the right side of the transformer. Check these fuses. Also check is there is any fuse behind the Power one of switch. If it is faulty the replace the same.

Before connecting the power after replacing the fuse. check the working voltage marking at the back side. Is it 120v or 220v. If its 120V then be sure that you are using 120V AC line.

If any fuse blows of when you connect the power then you have to consult any nearest service station.

The Voltage rating and Amps rating of the fuse can find marked up on the two metal strips at the two ends. My be laser mark or punching.

Check the link bellow to see the fuses
Check the 12th picture on the link.

The main house RCD tripped yesterday and since this the tv has now stopped working due to possible power surge? I have changed the main plug fuse which I do not think had blown. When I turn the plug on,...

It a repairable tv,most of the times the power supply board got hit with big power surges to the tv.Power tripped, turn it back on the outlet give to much juice to the tv at once. This can cause the power supply board to go into protection mode and shutdown problems or dead all together.Tries a reset by unplug, replug the tv like an hour later. The tv now,it resetting back to the factory setting. The tv should work now. Not,than the tv power supply board is dead. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Amp wont switch off of stand-by

Both units have a problem with the output section. In case 1, the outputs are likely to be shorted. In case 2, the outputs are open. The low level and distortion come from you driving the speakers with the driver section of the amp. Both units will need to see a service provider.
