My lg refrigerator lsxs26326 is dispensing water but not filling ice tray up. What could be wrong?

the water solenoid valve for the water dispenser is separate from the icemaker water supply solenoid valve . get to the icemaker water supply solenoid and test it if it works alright . unplug the fridge from wall outlet do not close water supply valve. disconnect water tube connection on the water discharge side of the icemaker water supply solenoid valve . pull - out power supply connection of the solenoid coil . connect solenoid valve directly to wall outlet. a faint click should be audible and water should come out from where the tube was removed -- from the water supply discharge side. if no water is coming out with the solenoid plug in , then the solenoid is faulty. but if water comes while solenoid is powered -on , check the position of the icemaker lever. if it is on off position icemaker timer won't activate icemaker water supply valve..move icemaker lever to on and check for water pouring into the icemaker tray' if no water comes out . change the icemaker timer. thanks.

Just re-installed frig/freezer after sitting in storage for several years. Icemaker does not fill with water. Is there a float that could be stuck, or air in the line that needs to be bled???

Trace water supply line to where it connects to back of unit and locate the solenoid valve. This is a small electric valve that controls water supply to ice maker. They are usually connected with compression fittings so slightly loosen compression nut on inlet side to see if you have water to that point. If no water there then backtrack water line to source and make sure water line is hooked up and valve is on.
If you have water to inlet side of solenoid valve manually actuate ice maker and listen to hear if valve is opening. IF not then valve will need replaced. If you have water to valve and valve is opening then shut off water supply valve. Renove compression nut and clean inlet screen and put back together. Check to make sure filter is open . Remove line from outlet of solenoid and blow thru it to make sure its open into freezer. Hope this helps you. Thanks

No water flowing into the icemaker. The water is going into the cold water on the door. However, when I take the line off for the icemaker... no water comes out. I see that there are 3 connection for the...

The line to the icemaker won't have water coming out until the icemaker cycles and energizes the solenoid valve. check the inlet tube where it goes into the icemaker. sometimes this freezes shut. you can also check the continuity of the icemaker solenoid.

Icemaker not working

The ice maker valve is a dual one. with 2 solenoids. One solenoid operates the water and the other the ice maker. So if the water works that don't mean the ice maker supply is ok. The ice maker itself controls the flow of water. So if the water valve is ok then the ice maker is faulty. I have repair photos HERE

s are blocked or the solenoids do not activate, the symptoms may include no water, low water pressure, the wrong water temperature or water entering the tub even when the machine is off.
The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it at the back of the washer. Start by turning off the water supply at the valves on the wall. Disconnect both hoses from the back of the washer. Place the hoses into a bucket and turn them on to confirm that you are getting good water pressure and to clear out any debris from the line.
Inspect the filter screens on both the hoses and the inlet valve for debris build up. If you find any debris, clean it out. Use caution to avoid damaging the filter screens because the screens in the valve are not replaceable.
If debris was not present then proceed to the next step of testing the solenoids. Access to the valve may be easiest by opening the top or the back of the washer, depending upon make and model. There are two wires connected to each solenoid (aka coil) on the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

No water in the ice maker

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps , and water doesn't go into icemaker , replace the water inlet valve ( the piece on the refrig that the wall waterline connects to . If it doesn't dump the water poured into it after freezing , then replace the icemaker .

I connected water line to freezer inlet at back of our used Maytag bottom freezer refrigerator model mbf2255kew. now how do i start the icemaker? I do not have the manual.

Most ice makers have a wire bar that needs to be pushed down (from a locked position.) Then after 1 - 10 minutes, you should hear a sound for about 10 seconds that is a solenoid valve opening, letting the water pour into the ice maker.

If problems continue, please report back here. OK?

the solenoid may be tested using a multimeter.

Icemaker won't make ice

First, check to make sure you have water pressure at your supply line. (flex hose) If you have pressure and the icemaker is cycling, (arm moving up and down on its own) you most likely have a defective water inlet valve. This is the valve that the supply line connects to. Water is fed to this valve through your flex hose and then passed through a solenoid to your icemaker when the solenoid is energized.
