Hello, I have a Riccar 9800 and something has gone wrong/broken in my foot control and my machine won't stop sewing unless I turn off the power. Any thoughts?

Yes it does sound like a faulty foot control. The power cord is probably fine, you just need the controller. Ebay is a good source for parts.

Hiya, the threading for this machine is pretty standard so you won't be going wrong there. Have you used a sewing machine before? The tension dial (on the extreme left) should be set at 5. The other dial to your left should be on blue zigzag with orange broken line. The dial on the right should be set at 0 and the bottom one on 2 - 3. I've been looking for a manual for this machine as I inherited this one. It took me ages to suss straight sewing out. Another thought is take it to a repairer and ask for a quote. Good luck.

yes, it is possible that the foot pedal can go out,, it would be a good
idea to have the foot pedal checked at a repair shop to see for
sure

Sounds like your foot control is faulty.
