The copiers CPU is equipped with a self diagnostics function that on detecting a malfunction,gives the corresponding malfunction code on the touch panel.Resetting a malfunction:
- Press the trouble reset switch on the technical representative setting switches board to reset fusing and exposure lamp related malfunctions.(code: C400,410,420-expo;C500,510,520-fusing unit)
- For any other malfunctions,open and close the front door or turn OFF and ON the power switch.
C1441 CCD failure(clamp adjustment failure).
Reset the malfunction,check that the original glass is properly installed.Check for extraneous light and check to see if CCD Assy and mirrors are installed at the correct position.If the same malfunction is detected again,change image processing board.

Detection Timing
The leak signal (SCD) turns ON after the PC
Drum Charge and Image Transfer/Paper Separator
Corona output has been turned ON.

What is the MAKE & MODEL? I'm guessing you have a Minolta??? You need to clean the drum unit & the ATDC sensor or replace the OPC

The malfunction code is for a Polygon Motor malfunction. The motor that shoots the laser beam across the drum

1. Turn off copier 2.Disconect finisher cable 3.Turn on the copier . If it works properly turn it off &reconnect finisher cable then turn it on .

Hello sir; The particular code you post for minolta EP5420 means blanking lamp problem.try to reset;
There have a service switch under the panel and behind the toner bottle. you will find a small access hole. you may use paper clip stick into the hole to reset, otherwise you have to replace the lamp.
