SOURCE: plunger on thetford c-200 cw

Go to Thetford web site, click on customer support, click on manuals, click on your model # and download the manual. It will be a PDF file. More than likely you have lost power to the toilet or you have a bad motor or the linkage has broke or become disconnected. There are many links on Fixya site to order parts or you can take your toilet to an RV dealership.

SOURCE: The flush valve does stay open long enough after flushing

Which style of flush valve do you have? If it is the dual-flush option (solids/liquids) I do not know how to adjust those. If you have a traditional style, then the flapper or ball is closing too soon. You need to adjust the guide arm (flush ball) higher or shorten the chain between the flapper and the handle. Adjust this carefully or you will have it fail to seat and the toilet will constantly run.

I hope this helps.

My flush has stuck on, how can this be sorted.?

Close the Inlet Water valve to the Flush Tank.
Remove the lid on top of the Tank cover.
Check the link/chord connecting the flush knob and the Flush valve.
It might be broken.
Normally the Flush Tank lever, which is outside the Tank lifts the Flush valve at the bottom of the Tank.

How do you Clean out algae in toilet water holding tank

Walmart sell aglaecide for swimming pools and hot tubs. I'd use that first. After algae has died, scrub inside of tank lightly and flush a couple of times.

How do you make sure water is completely drained fromflushing resevoir? last year mould appeared on flushing after overwintering. thanks

Almost impossible since there are shapes in the internal moulding which will trap water and traces of moisture will remain. Best course would be to rinse out with bicarbonate of soda solution at the beginning of the season. You will probably be using bicarb solution when you flush out the domestic water supply tank and pipework and wipe down the interior of the fridge so this is just one more of those seasonal jobs.

When flushing out flush-water reservoir tank rinse through afterwards with plain water to prevent any interference with lower tank additive action.

Hi, have a built in thetford toilet in my caravan. The pump has stopped working. How do I check and remove the pump if required? Thanks Rosco

Don't send money. Just go to thetford.com and download info.
Some tips - if seal is old and breaking up make sure you recover all the bits which have fallen into the flush water tank. If new o-ring seal not available use outdoor silicone sealant and allow to set for 48 hours before adding anything other than a small amount of water to test flush action. Electric circuit includes a fuse and microswitch which are both contained within the flush water tank but you are unlikely to have problems with these items.

Water tank on motor home toilet very dirty black grim coming away when flushing have emptied out what do I do to clean tank not accessible

There is no total and final solution to the problem of black mould growth in the water reservoir during the winter. Before the start of the touring season you could fill with a bicarbonate of soda solution to kill off the mould. Leave for 24 hours and then flush out. You then need to rinse out with fresh water until mould clears. In severe cases you may find that travelling with water sloshing around in the flush tank will loosen more flakes of mould. These should flush away quite soon and you will have the problem under control.

Casset toilet will not pump water for flush

Open door, remove toilet cassette unit, look in under flush water tank, observe a short metal blade that actuates a safety switch. This is between two plastic guides. Now look just outside the right hand guide. There you will find the fuse which is a standard blade type. Just pull it down to remove from holder. You will probably find it rated at 3 amp. If it is blown you will probably have to replace pump. Looks difficult but is actually dead easy. Instructions come with replacement Thetford pump. Only problem you may have is a perished sealing ring on the paper holder cup which is no longer available as a spare. Just use a good quality outdoor type sealant as a replacement. Be sure to recover any bits of broken ring from the flush water tank as these can be drawn into your replacement pump and cause it to sieze. At minimum this will cause you to say bother! Happy repairing.
