Some tv's only use the thumb drive port for software updates. Others will play photos and movies. You can't leave the thumb drive connected all the time since it overrides the input selector on the TV.

yes the DVD player will work on it thru HDMI to DVI connector but however the audio is not carried on DVI so you will have to have a seperate audio cables. also the 1080p signal is not supported by this set 1080i only.

try formating the thumb drive with a fat32 partition before using it in the dvd player
