Red l.e.d. is glowing on motherboard, also fan is running continuously. Just had new motherboard fitted,and extra 1Ghz. of memory. Every thing else seems O.K. (TA690G AM2 Tseries fitted).

If the bike is equipped with any kind of catalytic converter, then the extra raw fuel is burning up in the cat causing the glowing hot exhaust, and all that unburnt fuel in the combustion chamber is fouling the plugs.

The continous beep usually means a memory failure (RAM) or video memory if a plugin card is used.

Check to be sure the unit sees all of the memory, a weak power source( without AC adapter) could cause a partial failure of one memory card.

Another fault would be that the battery is very low on charge and won't accept any charge.

Have you tried resetting the c mos?

Take out the memory sticks,reset c mos,put memory back in.

Also is the memory in the proper channel or slots on the motherboard?

Could be 3 things Memory or CPU or Powersupply. are you getting any beeps if so how many, how long. try taking all the memory out and powering up see if it beeps if so try to put one stick of memory in at a time and see if it will boot. if you get no beeps with memory out check powersupply some PS's have a red switch on back for current input. switch back and fourth about 20 times uning a pen and set it to the right current for you location. put ram back in see if it will boot if not its trial and error of the PS and the CPU replacement and it still could be the RAM giving false readings. yea i know sounds like a ball of fun.

The motherboard LED is supposed to glow, indicating that the board is residually powered, after disconnection
of external power and as a warning of this condition so that you will not further disconnect or connect any
peripherals until the charge on the power retention capacitor is properly dissipated.

The Power Supply and Processor Fans should only run while power is applied, and if the Processor fan is always running at a high, possibly noisy, velocity, additional Processor Cooling may be necessary by means of a higher efficiency heat dissipation system.

If you remove memory from the board, the system should not initiate, as memory has little or nothing to do with
the problems you cite, but everything to do with the proper initiation of your system.

Buy a larger Processor Fan Assembly and those symptoms you cite which actually are problems should cure
themselves, while those symptoms you cite which are not problems will still not be problems.

If no then this is motherboar issue, I had the similar problem. So went to the local repair shop and got the power capacitors replaced,

May be your computer motherboard wires connection get loose or getting moisture in wires. Or there may be some earthing problem in ur power switch. First, check the wires connection & tighten up properly. if problem persists, check the earthing by power tester. Check you RAM if it is properly tight in the jack.

What you can physically fit and the space available is not the same thing, Crucial is an excellent site but it might say that you have the capacity to fit x megs but whether you have the empty slots is different (see the last paragraph), and you will not really know untill you open the case and look.

The actual fitting is simple enough if you can reach the slots without dismantling the whole machine!

Supposing you can clearly see and reach the slots, with the machine off, and the power cord removed - yes removed! Gently press on the white clips at either end of the fitted memory it will pop up, lift it out without touching the gold terminals, notice the slot in the bottom edge.
Now, and without altering the orientation, place it back in the slot lining up the slot to the peg in the receiver. Now with a little pressure you can clip the memory module back in the slot and the tags will pop back into the locked position.
Okay you have done it, its as easy as that. So when the new stuff arrives you will know how to fit the new modules.

Your new modules could have twice the value of the old ones, so if your board can handle say 1 GIG of memory in two slots, thats a max of 512 megs in each, you might have 2 x 256 megs fitted and there are no empty slots, so pop out the 2 x 256 and drop in the 2 x 512 making an upgrade of ½ a Gig (in each slot) giving a total of 1 Gig.
The probability is that there are four slots, two of which might be empty, its the combination making up the total that determines how much extra you can fit....

There are things to consider when buying a motherboard.

1. The type of processor you are using must fit on your new motherboard (compatibility issues)
2. Memory.

Better ask your local store for a compatible motherboard. Unless your going to buy the same board .

If your purchase a new motherboard it comes with a instruction manual complete with installation guidelines and illustration to help you out. In case you have trouble doing so you can always contact your vendor or the manufacturer for help (online, toll free numbers).

If your having doubts whether your motherboard is defective you can run tests but you will need extra parts. You could ask your friends if they have one. In my case I usually test other components ex. processor, memory with a spare working motherboard. Fit in the componenets with your spare motherboard and if it runs chances are your suspected board is defective. Or better have it checked at another service center for a 2nd opinion.
