Where does the filter go on a intertherm electric furnace

SOURCE: smoke coming from furnace

You may have something (paper,dust, etc.) on the electric coils. There may also be a short in the element.

Check fuses. one may be blown, and the other one not, Therefore you are getting only 110V to a 220v circuit.

SOURCE: Blower will not shut off on furnace.

If your blower will not shut off from the thermostat, you either have a bad thermostat or your red and green thermostat wires are exposed to each other.

The filters on an Intertherm usually go on the inside of the front panel

I have an Intertherm MAC 2460 electric furnace that needs filters and there are no filters in it right now I have no owners manual what do I do?
I would think the easiest thing would be to measure the filter rack and purchase one. It's not good to run any air handler without a filter. The filter could be at the return air plenum or behind the return air grille if you have a single return.

The best thing to do is buy a washable horsehair filter from home depot and cut it to fit. They are green in color and you cut any size you want. They slide in the door of a gas furnace or along each side of the A coil in an electric furnace. That is your best bet.
