Curling iron no longer heats & difficulty finding an affordable replacement.Power light comes on but the "wand" remains cold. If it was the cord, the light wouldn't come on, right? Is it fixable?

Sounds like the heating element has burnt out. This isn't really a user repairable item and would cost more to fix than a new one.

SOURCE: Iron heating sporadically and sensor lights working sporadically

sounds like a loose connection in the power transfer, some piece of metal may be broken or the cord itself may be damaged in some place, you could try replacing the cord. I would just go and buy a new iron. They aren't all that expensive anymore. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I hope you solve your problem. If you want any further help or have any other questions, please let me know, otherwise have a Good Day.

SOURCE: Replacement Blades

I dont believe you can get replacement heads for non-professional clippers. If you are going to invest in a new pair you could go to Sally's Beauty Supply and purchase a pair that you could always get a replacement head for.
If you dont want to invest in a new pair you could bring that pair in there and see if any of the replacement heads they have may fit. There is usually eather 2 or 4 screws that will go in there. You could find one that looks the same and it may just work! Good Luck!

I have a Conair Instant Heat curling iron. It does not heat. I am guessing the problem is with the power cord. How do I remove the end cap so I can test the power cord?

Based on a Safety protocol like the liability statement for product safety there are different screws used based by brand and on a marketing technical decision but most screws to fit are u-type (VORK) screws on irons .
With some special type screwdriver or different screwbits types they are to order by most specialized car shops or by onlineshops on internet.

How to get Braun curling iron to heat?

Delilah, if it is a new curling iron and you plug it into a known good working outlet and does not heat up, it is defective. Return it to store for replacement or refund. If it is older and out of warranty, it is probably burnt out limit switch or may need rewired with new plug and cord(probably not cost effective, unless you can test and change)
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do I turn the silly thing OFF?

If the power switch does not trigger to cut off the power all you need is to attach the heater to an power extension cord with a power switch to turn it off. The other option is to open the unit to check on the switch and the trigger to the circuit.
