SOURCE: outside temp on skycam atomic clock
Try changing the battereis in the CLOCK. When the batteries in the clock start getting low, the clock does not pick up the outside transmitter.

I keep the outside unit of our in/out set under a coffee can shaded under a bench; one could argue the aesthetics but shielding it from wind and sun is mandatory otherwise one can get record temps pretty often.
The outside units generally transmit to the receivers only every few minutes to keep battery consumption down so moving them won't necessary gie you an immediate change.

Based on a suggestion from another thread, I removed the batteries from the base unit, waited until the display went blank, then replaced the batteries. After a few seconds the outside temp started displaying again.

you probably need to 'pair' the outdoor sensor with the main base: look for a 'channel' button, as these units usually can get information from several sensors and differentiate them by a channel number.

I had same problem. Take all batteries out of both units. Put the batteries in the remote sensor FIRST. Then put batteries in the main unit. Within five minutes, they will link up. Problem solved!
