I have a fire TV stick, which runs over Wi Fi, trouble with buffering, freezing up, so got an adaptor and hooked up to my router with cat cable, freezes up my internet phone, any suggestions thanks

your buffering is from slow or weak network need booster or up speed --adapter drawing more of wifi then other devices and possible phone not compatible with adapter

Fire stick 2 keeps buffering and freezing. Have WiFi. Network says signal is very good. How can I stop if buffering. please help. It's annoying.

You need to see what the wireless router says about the channel congestion. Not necessarily the signal strength. The firestick finds the router and connects to it by matching its channel. So in essence you have everything on the one channel. IF you have neighbors that are on the channel then it is very congested. There is no way to change the channel from the firestick side.

Amazon Fire box keeps freezing during shows, especially at night. Please help!

I have seen this happen with my firebox, I contacted Amazon and they sent me a knew one. They will have you troubleshoot first. Usually they want to make sure the firmware is updated and that you have a strong internet connection. Sometimes the strength of the WiFi signal causes issues.

This is almost certainly due to a weak WIFI signal.

Is it normal for it to get VERY hot to the touch.

No its not normal, this means that the processor is getting overheated and over worked. Cooling it off is a good option.

I can't get internet connection even though it says my connection strength is "excellent."

The netbook is working fine. The WiFi connection or SPID may require you to login as in it is a protected signal. The "Excellent" means that you are receiving an excellent signal from the router. What you want is internet access which is upstream of that. Try a different SPID or connection.

Digital TV freezes now that the digital conversion is done

Hello,

Do you remember in the old days when you got bad reception and the TV would get snowy? That was due to the signal strength of the incoming signal was not strong enough. We with digital TV you can still have a situation where the signal is weak, since you are looking at a digital picture the video and audio are packetize, and being packets they are first fed into a buffer and then sent to the decoding section of your TV. Now think about this when the signal becomes weak and the data stream is corrupted to the point that the processor rejects the stream that data which is in the buffer plays out and the last thing in the buffer is what you see on the screen (frozen image on the screen) until the signal strength goes back to normal and the buffer fills up again.

How do you stop this, well that's a hard question since the buffer underflow is the result of signal degradation, the cure would be to prevent the signal from degrading. This can be done with the use of an HDTV antenna (too expensive), an amplified antenna (priced ok for some but still too pricy for most), a rabbit ear type antenna with an amplifier added (this will work for most people), or just a plain set of rabbit ears (dipole antenna). All of these are options that can help you.

I hope this helps

Thank you,
