Oven doors can warp over time. Also, if the door has a heat shield that covers the window and locks the door during self-cleaning it can become misaligned and prevent the door from closing properly. Minor alignment and adjustment can be done by loosening the screws on the hinges and taking advantage of the slots provided for positioning the door before re-tightening the screws however if the door is warped too much you may not have enough adjustment travel available to properly re-align the door. The metal gasket around the door may also have become damaged and is preventing a proper seal and you might be able to locate replacement gaskets at an appliance parts house.

The oven door hinges may have come out of track on one side. Need the model number to provide you further details if available.

One of the door hinges may have come off track at the base of the door. Need to release the clamp on both hinges and get the door out for inspection.

The pilot light stays on most none electric lighting for gas appliance, this is normal if you do not have an electric ingnition on your oven.

To Unlock the hinge on an Ariston Oven Door

Lay the oven door flat on the worktop with the inner door upwards and the locked hinge facing you.

With a pair of pliers and a good grip on the hinge, force the locked hinge towards you (by pulling it open towards you) and keep it in position by flipping the U piece over.

Fitting the Oven Door

Fit the door to the oven with the metal receivers in the slots on the oven.

Once the receivers are in the slot, fully open the door (in a downward position).

Flip the U shaped pieces over to lock the hinges.

It is usual to be able to adjust oven door hinges.
Normally the only solution is to replace the hinges.
