SOURCE: GE Monogram Built-in refrig has blocked evaporator drain.

You should be able to see the drain under the coil. Part 804 on this diagram. Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator, evaporator fan not running

As insignificant as it may seem, that evap fan motor is as important as petrol in a car. That fan controls the fridge cooling on many fridges and circulation in tha freezer compartment. Replace it with the correct one and you should see a functional fridge/ freezer again. Note, i wouldnt run unit without it for long, as condensig temperatures run high and compressors dont last long.

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL MODEL GI6FDRXXY 07, AND THE EVAPORADOR MOTOR DOESNOT WORKING... IT NO RECEIVE THE 12 V... WHY? A NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM... TO CHECK...

If your evaporator motor is not working, you are so correct. The air circulated in the refrigerator is due to the evaporator motor fan. If left to operate without a fan to provide a heat load for your compressor, it could cause your compressor to fail. Your problem is most likely the defrost sensor inside the cover of your evaporator. It is probably stuck open and will not put power to your evaporator fan. Take you model number to Searspartsdirect.com and find the defrost sensor for your refrigerator and replace it.
Hope this helps

Why are evaporator fans not running?

Its hard to say without a model number but generally the plug harness that the fans plug into is not plugged in, or the evaporator is solidly iced up and wont let the fans spin, or the coil has a fan temperature switch that has failed. Sometimes the harness plug burns and the connection is lost. Best thing is to take the cover loose and follow those black wires and see where they go. I don't believe true ever had door fan switches on refrigerators. Hope this helped good luck.

After power outage the fridge was displaying codes SY and EF I have Frigidaire model number FGHS2365KF1. Any thoughts?????

Hi.

SY: Defective evaporator system. Check evaporator fan, thermostat and heater.

EF: Evaporator Fan defective. Test and eventually replace the evaporator fan.

The problem is likely the evaporator fan. Before replacing the fan test the other parts comprised in the evaporator system.

Here a tip explaining how to test such parts with a similar fridge model: Fridge not cooling. Procedure is more or less the same with your model.

Here parts and diagrams for your model.

Generally you can find parts and diagrams for most appliances using the links listed on this page:
Where do I find parts and diagrams for my appliance?

In winter the refrigerator make ice not in summer, just cleaned the evaporator which was totally cove with dust, noticed also that the compressor is hot and all the coopper pipes also are very hot, what...

The reason everything is hot is because you stopped the unit from "Breathing" through the condenser (not evaporator) by allowing dust to build up.
This is how the system disperses heat absorbed in the freezer section (evaporator).

Noise from condenser fan. I cleaned the blade and the surronding area. Put some w-d 40 but the noise is still there. It is cold. Should I replace the motor? how hard is it to do? kenmore coldspot...

Go to www.searspartsdirect.com enter your model number and select model number search.

Here you can see a diagram of the unit. The fan motor cost 95 dollars.

It depends on the type of noise it is making.

These motors when failing tend to hum when trying to start which is a sign of a dry bearing.

Rattling sounds or ting ting ting sounds are either a lose fan blade (check the cheap retaining clip on the front of the shaft .. it may have wiggled forward causing the blade to wobble) or a lose mounting screw.

Also I can't tell from the diagram how close the fan is to the drip tray(tray evaporator) These fans not only aid in removing heat from the condenser.. they help evaporate the water in the drip tray.

If you remove the motor.. have it tested before replacing it. At a hundred bucks it's worth a trip to a good electric motor shop. They generally will test it for free.

If you are able to determine the voltage and hook it up out of the cabinet you may save yourself a trip.

Chances are it's a lose mounting screw or that front blade retaining clip.

Best of luck!

Temperature control

The freezer is usually cooled by the compressor, the fridge is then cooled by an evaporator fan motor ($30). If this fan seizes or slows down then the fridge warms up (it sometimes starts squealing before this happens). The fan may spin, but it if goes too slowly, then it would blow enough cool air into the fridge, especially if it is opened quite frequently.

If you think it is the evaporator fan motor:
Check to be sure you can get a replacement fan first, they last about 4 - 5 years. Can get from a parts supplier or electric motor company.
UNPLUG fridge. Located usually in top of freezer behind a vented cover plate. Remove cover, remove screws holding fan in, may have to cut wires. Replace with new motor, make sure the fan pushes air into the freezer area and doesn't spin backward drawing air from the freezer area.
