I have a set of BellSouth 2250 walkie-talkies or two way radios. One seems to be voice activated and the other is not. I do not want them to be voice activated because then I have to hear everything and I only want to hear when someone wants to talk with me. Please can you tell me how to turn off the voice activated feature. The one with voice activated feature has VOX between the battery life symbol and the volume setting. The other has nothing between those two symbols.
To turn off sound activation press the menu button 3 times to enter VOX mode. The VOX icon should be flashing, then press the down button till the number of bars dissappear. Press the menu button to confirm the VOX off mode. You also can adjust the sensitivity of the VOX mode by how many bars are displayed, less bars equal less sensitivity. No bars and voice command is deactivated. Hope this helps.
Mostly or this radios has a menu key, press this key for 3 seconds until the chanel number blinks then press menu until you reach VOX option and select off with the up/down or +/- keys then press PTT.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SOLUTION. IT WORKED AND TOOK ME ABOUT 3 MINUTES TO FIX. THANKS AGAIN!!

I lost my manual for my BellSouth 2260. How do you get it to scan? I hold down the scan button and it just beeps. I was wondering what the 2 digits along thh channel from 00 to 38 were for? I forget because I havn't used it for about 3 years. Does anyone know what the range is on this 1 or 2 mile?
