I have just connected SC-HTB498 sound bar using HDMI to my Samsung TV but I am getting no output. Any Ideas?

The hdmi is connected to the readynet connection on the TV and the soundbar switches the TV speakers on and off when it is switched and there is an indicator on the TV showing the volume setting on the soundbar when the volume is altered using the remote control. I have tried using HDMI and optical out separately and combined but still no output.

Power off the television and unhook the power connection. Wait a minute reconnect it. Try again.

SOURCE: XBox 360 to Reciever to TV via HDMI no sound

I recently got the same receiver and had the same problem. Here's what I was told - and it worked for me:

Even though HDMI cables carry audio and video, for whatever reason this reciever won't accept audio through hdmi. Apparently only much more expensive recievers carry audio through hdmi. What you have to do is run optical audio cables from your xbox, cable box, dvd player or other video device to the optical inputs on the back of the reciver. Then you customize the scene buttons to match your video and audio inputs.

You can get these optical cables pretty cheap on line or even at target. Don't get ripped off by Best Buy for these cables. I love best buy, but they rip off on cables!

This receiver is great - once I got it all figured out and running right I've loved it! Hope everything works out for you!

SOURCE: Sony HT-CT100 soundbar + STR-DG720 = Yes misery, no audio

It's not going to do whayt you want. On the premise that you can't run a dedicated receiver to a dedicated receiver. One processor is not going to override another. The soundbar is a "self contained" closed system. Much like Bose products. I understand what you are looking for, it just can't be done with this product. Options: replace the sony soundbar with a passive polk soundbar or similar and keep the AV receiver or: Return the AV receiver and use the nice, but limited sony amplified soundbar. Hope this helps

My sony KDL "46vl160" sound is out of sync

1. Check your TV's audio settings:

If you're experiencing audio issues with your Sony TV, the first thing you should do is check the audio settings. Make sure that the TV is set to output audio to the correct source.

For example, if you're using an HDMI cable to connect to a sound bar, make sure that the TV is set to output audio to the sound bar. If you're using a receiver, make sure that the TV is set to output audio to the receiver.

2. Try a different HDMI cable:

If you're using an HDMI cable to connect your TV to a sound bar or receiver, try using a different HDMI cable. Sometimes, the cable can be the issue.

3. Check your sound bar's audio settings:

If you're using a sound bar, make sure that the sound bar is set to the correct audio input. For example, if you're using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the sound bar, make sure that the sound bar is set to the HDMI input.

4. Check your receiver's audio settings:

If you're using a receiver, make sure that the receiver is set to the correct audio input. For example, if you're using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the receiver, make sure that the receiver is set to the HDMI input.

5. Try a different audio input:

If you're using an HDMI cable to connect your TV to a sound bar or receiver, try using a different audio input. For example, if you're using an HDMI cable to connect the TV to the sound bar, try connecting the TV to the receiver using an optical cable. 6. Restart your TV: If you're still experiencing audio issues, try restarting your TV. Sometimes, this can fix the issue.

My Samsung tv model number UA40C5000QF does not have a hmdi arc port and we have bought a Samsung sound bar but it cannot be connected as it does not have that port

Your sound bar can be connected to the UA40C500QF. Get an appropriate audio cable based on the sound bar. You'll either need a optical digital audio cable or an analog audio cable with a 3.5 mm plug on at least one side. (If your sound bar has an AUX input, then a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm M/M audio cable is appropriate. Otherwise, you may need an RCA (M/M) to 3.5 mm audio cable or some sort of RCA to 3.5 mm adapter (F on one side, M on the other).) Connect this cable to the audio out on the TV (headphone or digital audio) and the appropriate audio in on the sound bar.

Set the sound bar source to the chosen input (Aux or Digital In (D.In on some systems). Next, set the TV to use External speakers. This is in the Audio sub-menu. The volume will now be controlled by the sound bar volume control.

You can still use the HDMI cable (HDMI out to any HDMI in on the TV) if you want to use the TV screen when changing the settings on the sound bar. Just change the TV source to that HDMI port with the Source button on the TV remote or on the TV (the left-most button on the front panel). Then change your source back to the video signal for the TV to view items connected to the other HDMI ports. If your sound bar has an HDMI input, you would similarly use set the TV to the sound input to watch that source.

I hope this helps. See the manual for the UA40C500Q for the details on setting the speakers to External speakers. The manual is available on the support page: https://www.samsung.com/au/support/model/UA40C5000QFXXY/ . The current link to the manual is http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201003/20100316163048500/BN68-02727A-00Eng-0225.pdf .

I hooked up my soundbar using the HDMI out (TV) port from bar to HDMI in port on my Philips TV power is on bar however I can't get any sound out of bar. But just audio cables worked what to do?

OK, If its the Samsung Sound Bar, this item should have 2 HDMI input, 1 3.5mm audio jack input and a digital audio input (fiber optic). Since there are various input, the remote control should have a source button, or it will probably read O/A Input, this is to change thru the inputs from the sound bar. If you connected your TV HDMI output to HDMI 1 from the Sound Bar, then press the source button to reach HDMI 1, maybe it will be display with a different name, like sound 1, or DIGI.1 Give it a shot and let me know in the comment section. Good luck.

How do you connect Samsung sound bar to my Sanyo dp52440A. TV has no no outlet which fits audio aux which came with my Sanyo TV

Hook your sound bar to your output device, Cable Box, DVD/Blu-Ray player. Or try the follow should your Sound Bar have HDMI.

Output Device>Sound Bar>TV
The Sound bar should have a HDMI in and out or at least most Samsung models do as well as Bluetooth support.

It is easier to answer when you list the model of each Item, there are many different version of Samsung sound bars.

Have lg 55ls5700 tv trying to connect samsung hw-f450

I suspect that the TV you have does not support the ARC function that the sound bar has. What you may have to do is use the Optical In from the sound bar to the TV and you should be good to go. You may have to change the TV's settings to use the Optical In though. So you should end up with the BluRay Player connected to the TV via an HDMI cable, the sound bar connected to the TV via the Optical In using a fiber optic cable. Hope this helps.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV

the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

How connect toshiba tv to samsung home cinema whit hdmi? i connect but still no sound. i want watch tv but listen in cinema sistem

the hdmi jack on the tv is an INPUT jack, not an output. to use your reciever for tv sound, you have to find the audio output on the tv (most do not have an audio out, but some higher end tv's have a fiber-optic digital out, which may or may not be compatible with your surround sound reciever)

if your tv does not have an audio out, the only way to get the tv sound into the styereo is to use a tuner box, like a cable box or satelite box. tuner boxes always have either hdmi or stereo audio outputs.

to use hdmi with your surround sound, you are supposed to run HDMI OUTPUT from the tuner box or disk player into the HDMI INPUT of the stereo, and then run the HDMI OUTPUT of the stereo into the HDMI INPUT of the tv.

How do I connect my Panasonic SC-HTB500 sound bsr to my Panasonic TH-42PX75U television with an HDMI cable?

If you have a set top box (blu-ray, dvd, cable) with HDMI Out, then you need a pair of HDMI cables. Connect one from the HDMI Out of the set top box to the HDMI In of the sound bar. Then connect the HDMI Out of the sound bar to the HDMI In of the TV.

If you only want to use the sound bar as an external speaker system for the TV, then you should get a digital audio cable (fiber optic cable). Connect this to the Digital Audio Out on the TV (below HDMI ports) and to the Digital Audio In of the sound bar.

I hope this helps. You can find the manual of the TV here: http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Televisions/Plasma-TVs/model.TH-42PX75U . The TV also has analog (RCA) audio out jacks labeled Prog Out on the bottom left of the connection panel; the sound bar however doesn't have RCA audio in jacks.

Cindy Wells
(since there are no HDMI out jacks on the TV, there is no other way to connect the sound bar.)

I just bought a dvd home theater system sc-pt760 and i have a 42 inch LG flat screen and the sound wount work on AUX for the TV

Are you using the HDMI connection on both units, the SC-PT760 does have a HDMI input Yes/NO ? If not then it has HDMI output to the LG for HD Picture. What I would do if no HDMI INPUT to the SC-PT760 is available, run out of the TV with the Digital connection into the SC-PT760 Digital Audio in, assign the input as tv and you shoild get TV audio out of your home theatre, you could also use the analog connection audio out of the tv to the home theatre but this would not yield a dolby digital sound.
