SOURCE: blood pressure monitor problem

The two numbers that measure your blood pressure are written like a fraction: one number on top and one on the bottom. The top number in a blood pressure reading refers to the systolic pressure. It measures the pressure inside your blood vessels at the moment your heart beats. The bottom number represents your diastolic pressure. It measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is resting between heartbeats. A good blood pressure for most people will be under 120/80, as most people with blood pressure problems have high blood pressure. However, extreme low blood pressure can also be a serious health concern.

SOURCE: Why wont my Omron Blood Pressure Monitor work?

I contacted the manufacturer here is the response with information to contact them yourself if this does not help.

I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue with your readings and would be happy to assist you in determining where the problem lies.
Initially, I would like to provide you with some basic user information on factors that could impact the quality of your readings enough to cause the E error message you have been receiving. I will follow that with some critical steps that you must take in order to obtain a reading on your Omron unit.
User technique is important for reliable measurement results. Listed below are the common causes why you may get an erroneous reading:
Cuff Size - Measure the circumference of your wrist. If the incorrect cuff is used, you may get an inaccurate reading or error messages, if not at the first reading, then after a short period of use because the cuff bladder will be damaged. To determine your wrist size, measure your wrist approximately ½” above your wrist bone using a cloth tape measure. Wrap the tape measure evenly around your wrist. Do not pull the tape tight.
*The cuff that came with your unit is appropriate for wrist circumferences of 5 ¼ to 8 ½ inches. If your wrist circumference is not within that range, your readings will be inaccurate or you may receive error messages.
Cuff Application - Make sure you are wrapping the cuff around your wrist in the correct position. The cuff should be wrapped snugly around your wrist. If your wrist monitor can be used on either the left or right wrist, make sure you have set the monitor to the wrist you are using.
*If the cuff is wrapped too tightly or too loosely, your readings will be inaccurate or you could receive an error message.
Before Taking a Measurement - Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes and rest for 15 before starting the measurement. Avoid taking a measurement during stressful times. Take the measurement in a quiet place.
Body Position - Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. If you do not have your wrist at heart level, your reading will be affected. Holding your arms or shoulders tensely may affect the reading. Remain quiet while taking the measurement.
The E error message is telling us that the unit is recognizing some type of interference while taking the reading. This could be as simple as speaking or moving, having a computer, cell phone or medic alert device too close to the phone, a loud television/radio in the same room or more complicated, such as a rapid or weak arterial pulse.
Reading Timing - Because Omron units read your blood pressure by 'listening' to the blood as it vibrates through the artery, the artery must be fully opened for an accurate reading. It is critical to wait a full 5-10 minutes between readings to allow the brachial artery to 'bounce back' from the initial constriction.
Refer to the Instruction Manual provided with the unit for the complete operating instructions.
If after reviewing the information above your unit is still not functioning properly, in order to best serve you, please call our Consumer Support team, toll-free at 800-634-4350. Our trained representatives are available Monday through Friday, 830a to 430p CST to assist you over the phone and try to resolve your issue without sending your unit in for repair. If repair is necessary, they can set up your file to start the process or provide valuable options to your particular situation.
Please have the following information available in order to expedite your call:

1. Model number (from the front of the unit)
2. Serial number (from the sticker on the side of the unit)
3. Proof of purchase information - from the receipt or online verification.

4. The wrist circumferences of all users of your unit.
They will be happy to assist you with your options regarding service.
We appreciate your interest in Omron products and want to ensure your satisfaction.
Please let me know if I may be of further assistance and have a wonderful day!

BP A50 Semi Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor

See page 1 of the manual above with phone numbers to call for whatever country you live in and ask you question. There was not an error 4 in this manual. You might want to call your Doctor's office, and inquire. Perhaps batteries are going bad.

My blood pressure machine keeps giving me an error 3 it is a cvs brand

Several of the CVS brand blood pressure monitors are made by MicroLife USA. For those models, the Error 3 indicates that you may have been moving your arm while the unit was obtaining the readings. You need to repeat the measurement while staying still.

The other possible cause of the error are that the cuff didn't inflate in a reasonable length of time. Check that the cuff is properly placed on your arm. Also make sure that the inflation hose is tightly connected to the cuff socket on the unit.

I hope this helps.

PUT IN TIME/DATE ON CVS MODEL KD556 SKU 800231 BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR, THERE R 2 BUTTONS, START & MEMORY : NO SET BUTTON

On your model, hold the "start" and "memory" buttons at the same time. After about 3 seconds the month will start flashing in the window. Push the "memory" button until it gets to the month you want. Then hit the "start" button and the day of the month will flash. Push the "memory" button until the correct day of the month comes up. Push the "start" button again, and the hours will flash. Push the "memory" button until the correct hour comes up. Do the same for minutes, and the next time you push "start" it goes into ready mode.

How do you erase the memory? It states memory full! I removed the batteries but it does not delete the memory. Where do I download the book, I lost it. Thanks

CVS Pharmacy stock and sells your model BP Monitor. I suspect if you either called their closest location to you or stopped in, they would be happy t make you a copy of the manual from one they have in stock.

Hope this helps you get another manual.
