There are screws hidden behind round plactic covers on the bottom and sides of the bezel. Also they may have plastic clips and or double sided tape holding the bezel in place. Slip a thin blade between the screen and bezel and gently lift the bezel off, take care not to scratch the LCD screen.

How do you remove the screen

Televisions covered: typical Projection Televisions.

Projection TV's usually have a bezel surrounding the screen that is held on by a (firm) friction-fit to a rubber gasket.
Once the bezel is (carefully) removed, the screen itself is released.

How to remove the bezel: carefully pull it away from the cabinet of the TV (toward the front), by hand - its somewhat/slightly flexible. If a tool is used, one risks damaging the cabinet finish, or the bezel itself.

If I need to extract a screen, I'll usually release the upper 1/2 of the bezel from around the screen (removing the top and half of each side), then lift the screen panel itself up and out of the TV without removing the entire bezel - this way, I save the (unnecessary) work of removing the entire bezel, and also avoid the possibility of the screen panel falling out of the cabinet onto the floor in front of the set (as the last part of the bezel comes off the cabinet).

Its often tough to get this bezel off the first time, so when I take one off, I'll install a light coating of grease on the rubber gasket, since once it comes off the first time, it will inevitably need to come off again a few more times before the TV is fixed. And if the bezel is flexed too violently, it will break.
Cheap automotive bearing grease works fine.

I want to replace the LCD screen myself but I can't find any video that shows me how. All of them show laptops that screws on the front of the bezzle and mine doesn't. How do I get the bezzle off?

Here's how to remove a screen for a laptop with a front bezzle instead of just front screws:
1. Power down your laptop. Disconnect the power cable and any peripheral devices from the laptop. Close the LCD screen, flip the laptop over and remove the battery from the bottom casing of the laptop.

  • 2.Flip the laptop over, and then open the LCD screen all the way. Remove the rubber screw covers from the front LCD bezel. The screw covers will be located on the front of the panel, or along the side edges, depending on your laptop's make and model.
  • 3.Remove the retaining Phillips-head screws from the front LCD bezel. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap along the outside edge of the LCD panel. Start to pry off the front bezel. Work your way around the entire LCD panel until the front bezel is separated from the panel.
  • 4. Remove the the bezel from the LCD panel and set it aside.

How do I remove the invertor from a Qosmio F20?

The inverter is located behind the bezel at the bottom of the screen/lid and in between the hinges.
The bezel has screws that fixes it to the lid and these can be hidden by stick-on plastic covers. Use a thin sharp point to lift these plastic covers off to reveal the screws. Remove these screws.
The bezel has small plastic catches that clips it to the lid and may also be fixed to the LCD screen with double sided tape. Use a thin blade and insert it between the LCD screen and the bezel and gently ease the bezel off. Start at the bottom of the screen and gradually work along the edge and continue around each side to free the bezel.
Be CAREFUL not to scratch the LCD screen and DO NOT apply too much pressure to the face of the LCD screen because you can crack the glass surface and ruin the LCD screen.
Once the bezel is removed then you can get access to the inverter to remove it.
