It may be calcified or have lime scale. If the heater is "gummed up", it cannot heat properly. Try using either vinegar (takes longer) or an iron cleaner. You pour it in and it breaks up the scale. CLR works quite well too. Use pipe cleaners to clear out the holes in the sole plate.

My MORPHY RICHARDS 42256 JET STREAM STEAM GENERATOR IRON has stop producing steam. I have changed the filter and although it heats up, it does not produce any steam.

What sort of Alarm do you get?

Does this iron have the 3-way alarm feature:
1.) Tilt over
2.) Laying down alarm (like 60 seconds)
3.) Idle alarm (like 15 minutes or longer..)
Can you give us more details on the alarm you get getting, and when?

totally open your iron, your iron element or thermostat is dirty with dirsty paticles, clean with thinner & fix it

Make sure that before you attempt to slide the water tank back that you operate the Tank Release Knob.
