SOURCE: Dip Tube

You may want to check the heating elements first. Where I live there is a lot of lime in the water that can coat the elements.

SOURCE: We have a Rheem PowerVent, 36,000 water heater for

Is the water heater in a basement or an area thats cold? A water heater jacket may help.

If not ,try setting the heat up a little higher on it until you have more then a 5 min hot shower.

May pay you to get a 100 gallon heater.

Dip tube size and length and type of end for Rheem PVW50 water heater

All dip tubes on water heaters smaller than 75 gallons are 3/4" male pipe thread to screw into the heater. As for length, go to a plbg supply and ask for a dip tube for a 50 gallon heater, and if it is too long, cut it. I believe that Home Depot also has them right out on the floor for sale.

Does anyone know the dip tube part number for a Rheem Fury Gas 42VR50-40F water heater? Heater runs out of hot water far too quickly. Thanks!

certain water heaters had a tube that dissolved, you take 1/2 in. copper flare one end of it, drill a1/8 in. hole in pipe 4 in. below flare ,remove cold water nipple on tank install new copper tube, cut tube to 3 inches off bottom of tank depth , reconnect cold water supply you should be good.

I have Rheem Pvw50, 50 gallon water heater installed at home. For the past few days, there is a noise coming out of blower motor. What could be the reason?

Your water heat is at an age that I would recommend replacing the whole unit. That one cannot be too efficient and most likely has sediment built up on the bottom of it pretty bad.

Power vent rheem mod pvw50 underneath is leaking

You have a water leak coming out of side of tank?
Water heater must be replaced. It is rusted, and could rupture.
Inspect and replace anode rod to prevent rusted tank, so water heater will last longer.

No hot water at all but power to all elements and to thermostats is there a dip tube in the rheem model 71-40D

Water heater can test for 120V power on elements and thermostats at all times.
That's because thermostats turn off one leg of 240Volt circuit, and not both legs.
You mentioned thermostats and elements, implying two elements and two thermostats, so your water heater is 240Volt.
240Volt breaker might be bad on one leg.

Yes the water heater has a dip tube.

I am trying to replace the dip tube in my RheemPowerVent water heater but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the old one out. The treaded metal cold water nipple is screwed into a circular...

1) Rheem power vent series:
http://www.rheem.com/product.aspx?id=C24E3F52-A6A4-4BC7-AF5B-0DF23A7A0263

2) Looking at product over-view manual: It says 'inlet connects directly to a dip tube which directs water to bottom of the tank.'
So it appears that dip tub is connected to heat trap nipple on cold water side

3) Sample manual for Rheem shows exploded parts list
http://globalimageserver.com/fetchDocument.aspx?id=a92c7d0e-8a95-48ba-8810-cd714f33d47a
The exploded view shows cold water nipple separate from dip tube, and shows dip tube gasket, and makes it unclear

4) Manual shows Rheem phone number:
1-800-432-8373
