I had your exact problem. My fix was resoldering the battery contact where it mates on the circuit board of the remote. ( It should be connected at 3 places ) The center and left were not making contact. only the panic button side was. Works like new now. btw while its apart use a pencil eraser to clean the button contacts.

SOURCE: Light remote control stopped working

most of my fan controls have done this to me. you know the reciever is working cuz the fan works fine. you need to dis assemble the remote completely and clean the contacts for the light button. mine are two small black dots that seem to keep getting slimey and wont work till i clean them, then all works like brand new again.

good luck.

PELONIS PFS45A5BBB 18 inch, 5-Blade Oscillating, Adjustable Standing Pedestal Fan. I need a lock nut of grill for fan model # PFS45A5BBB where can I get one please?

Question edited for clarity, full 'make model (what is is)'.
Question moved to Pelonis Fans (all fans are dryers on Fixya).

No parts are available, because they are all made in China as a disposable item. Take one of the remaining lock nuts off and take it down to Home Depot (or similar in South Africa or New Zealand) or a local industrial fastenings place and match it to a new one.

I bought a FS40-8MW/FS40-SMB fan and it was missing the small pieces. No plastic nut or spinner - Can you send these items to me at B.Townsend, 101 Vandenberg Cir, Roseville, CA 95747 Thank you

Alas Barbara Townsend,

I have a very soft spot in my heart for Roseville...
Specifically ... There is NOTHING ... FIXYA
only has FREE ADVICE.

>> Please...
EDIT this question and REMOVE your
private & personal information...
Name & address... (etc.)

((it is an IDENTITY risk you don't want... I assure you)).

Notwithstanding ... it appears you have an OSCILLATING FAN
MIDEA (currently listed under "DISHWASHER") is still a viable
manufacturer...

NONE of my usual parts suppliers recognize EITHER
MODEL NUMBER you posted... HOWEVER
eBay has proven quite helpful FINDING OBSCURE
bits & parts when I've been restoring things
(again... no exact matches (look for "donor" parts)).

Would that we could...

FIXYA is still only an independent ADVICE organization...

Hope this helps!!

These run very small motors with low "starting torque" If the fan hasn't been run for a long time, its possible that it has jammed up or got tight from just sitting there. Being careful, turn on the fan and spin it in its usual direction by hand, it should start running. If you cannot spin by hand, it may have seized up which will require you to strip and lube the motor. If you manage to get the fan spinning , let it run on high fan speed for an hour or so, it should free up and then be OK again. A small spray of WD40, CRC or similar spray can lube on the fan shaft where it disappears into the motor may assist.
