You can try the initial steps with the default software recommended by the mobile phone, HP Print and Scan Doctor How to fix printer problem HP Drivers Printer
First make sure you have connected power cord and USB cable to the printer
check the device manager whether printer detect or not
if not detecting try to replace the USB cable
again the problem is there try to connect the printer on any other system (laptop or desktop) and install the driver on that machine
go to this https://www.printerdriverforwindows.com/ website and search for your printer driver and check the printer
First thing you need to do is power cycle the printer. If that doesn't fix the problem then restart your PC. If it still shows offline and you used a USB cord to connect to the PC, I would try changing out the USB cord. If it is a wireless printer, then you need to log into your wireless router and see if it shows an IP assigned to the printer. If not then go thru the wireless setup routine for the printer again.

your printer correctly installed to your pc the printer driver I mean did your install it correctly? The usb cables has correctly attach to the CPU and printer? Thier is no broken wires of your usb cable did you try to replaced it with new one usb cable.

I had the same problem. This is what worked for me: I went to the HP website and downloaded the hp Print Diagnostic Utility. Found the problem and fixed it in no time (device manager I believe)... worked beautifully. Hope this helps :-)
SOURCE: Shows as offline on my mac book
Hi,
I'm a proud owner of a MBP just a week old and I got my C4580 today.
I also had stumbled across the problem which says "Printer is offline" when doing a simple print after setup.
If you used the Mac instruction and followed it, you probably installed the printer via the USB connection and then networked it.
I tried this and it turns out that the printer was offline and didn't print. All the set up on my Windows laptops were a breeze. For the mac though, I suggest you remove the printer and then add it again (but this time - through the network!).
If you pull up your printer properties via "Options & Supplies", you will note the following:
dnssd://Photosmart%20C4500%20series%20%5C5ZBFD7%5D._pdl-datastream._tcp.local./?bidi
The dnssd tells you that your printer is connected via a router in the network.
If it is in USB, it would be
usb://.....
Also, it helps to configure your router so that it allows it a fixed IP address via DHCP. This way, your printer will always hook up to the network fast.
This should help and I hope it does!
regards,
Ken
