What is the purpose of the rotating bezel on the Callaway CY2058? It has no markings, which it needs to be useful.

If you have no markings on bezel there is no practical use for this feature.
Bezels with markings are used as a tachymeter (for calculating speed of the moving object) or as a countdown timer for sporting events or diving.
In your case bezel is becoming loose and thats why it is turning as I can't see the point why the watch should be fitted with rotating bezel with no markings on it.

This is a new watch, with a rotating bezel with no markings. I agree that this renders the rotating bezel useless, so I thought I might have missed something. Why they make a watch with a useless feature like this and then advertise the feature is pretty goofy.

Whats the rotating outter ring marked 0 through 60 function on my armitron 20/4664sv

The rotating bezel can be used to measure elapsed time. For example, if the time on your watch reads 10.10, align the zero point of the bezel with the minute hand. Now, say the time is 10.40, the minute hand at 8 o'clock will point towards 30 on the bezel, indicating that 30 minutes of time has elapsed since 10.10.

I need to change the battery of my watch and i don't find the place for removing the back cover

some watches have a notch that comes out where you can get a knife, or exacto blade underneath to pop it open. if not, there may be multiple intends along the ridge that would require a special tool to twist open. any jewler could change the battery for you. also, batteries plus stores can change the battery out at a reasonable price.

How do I get the back off a Callaway CY 2001 watch? There is no indent to prise it off. Thanks

This watch is water-resistant to 5ATM (atmospheres), which means that you have to use a machine or a special tool to reseal the back of it to keep it water-resistant. If you do manage to get the back off, you'd probably end up cracking the crystal when you try to put the back on after replacing the battery.
I would suggest taking it to a locally-owned jewelry shop-- shouldn't cost more than $5-10, which isn't bad for a watch that probably cost you almost $100.

Invicta 3215(or similar watches). What is the name of the 'clicking' mechanism on the rotating bezel? there is a hole for it the case when bezel is lifted.

mcdevito75 here, I"m pretty sure the mechanism is called a Ratchet mechanism, most likely for all watches with rotateing Bezels.

How to start a callaway cy2058 watch. I bought the watch pre-owned and i have found no intstructions in the case and the watch doesn't seem to work.

If the stem is pushed in, then it needs a battery. A watch will stop if the stem is pulled out. Have the jeweler check the battery in it first and if the battery is good, then you were sold a lemon.

Rotating outer ring

It is primarily cosmetic - the bezel was originally designed for diving, military activities or similar where counting down time was critical. Before digital stopwatches etc were built into watches as a feature, what you did as a diver was turn the bezel to the time (say 30 minutes) of air you had left, then the minute hand would travel around the face to the position 0 on the bezel, telling you 30 minutes had passed. You often find compass directions, various job specific calculators etc on bezels also, but unless you need a stopwatch / time reminder and don't have that feature in the watch itself, then it is purely a tradition to include a rotating bezel. The original bezels would have the time markings going the opposite way to the watch face usually, however on many modern watches, they often go the same way, allowing you to see how much time has passed, rather than how much you have left. Hope this clears things up :)
