SOURCE: rca preout not putting out anything after amp/subs are hooked up and ready to pound

On most Pioneer's, there is an option in the main menu that allows you to turn the sub-out on or off. This must be on to let a signal pass from the head unit to the amp. Check this, and if it is on, try replacing the RCA cables. Let me know if this helps :)

SOURCE: Pioneer DEH-P4100 volume is noticeably lower when listening to the radio. Volume normal listening to CD, Aux and USB. Small external amp controlling sub but that shouldn't affect tuner. What ya think?

The tuner feed is at lower level than other sources. Happens. Unit may have a control for this internally and you might want to check it out with manufacturer of unit.

Can a pioneer DEH-46DH super tuner be hooked up with subs? using its pre out?

Yes you can use the pre out to hook up an amp and subs. Probably the best way to send the signal to an amp to run the subs.

PIONEER 300 WATT CAR STEREO AMP WIREING HOW TOO

depending on how many channels the amp is, you may not be able to hook everything up to it.

usually you have a separate amp for subs. 4 channel amp for the speakers in the car, and a mono amp for the subs.

To hook them all up to the same amp you would need an amp with 5 channels. It wouldn't work out right.

If you have a mono amp its only for subs.

If you have a 2 channel you can either hook it up to the rear speakers or bridge them to mono to run the subs.

you need a channel per speaker basically.

SUBS WONT TRUN ON

Hello fresttadefjm,

There are no subwoofer settings on the Pioneer DEH-2800MP.

You need to check the external power amplifier and the connections from the Pioneer and from the sub(s). If everything is plugged in and wired correctly, check the amp fuses, both on-board and the main power fuse (located in the amp positive lead usually near the vehicle battery).

Hope this helps.

2v preouts from deck want to make them higher voltage for amp

You can get a line driver, it will add the volts you need and they are adjustable, Audio Control has some nice stuff.

Cannot select ipod as a source on my deh-1500

The RCA jacks are preamp outputs (to use with a sub or external amp) not input to use with an iPod

There is no way to direct-connect an iPod to the DEH-1500.

You can use an iTrip or other FM-radio transmitter to play your iPod through an unused channel on the FM radio band

How do i install a subwoofer and amplifier to an exhisting car audio system

Hi,

The basic would be to wire the sub amp to your batteries with the trigger/remote wire powered by your car stereo/head unit. When your head unit is turned on it will in turn power up the sub amp. Of course the sub woofer need to be wired to the amp. For the signal/audio wiring, normally, the head unit has a stereo RCA female connectors at the rear intended to be connected to external amps through a pair of shielded/audio cable terminated both ends with RCA males. Some units have a special RCA specifically for subs. Most eternal amps also uses RCA for their inputs.

If the existing car audio system has already an external amp and your plan is to add on to this, the audio/signal from the head unit could be split to provide both for the existing and the new sub amp.

If the existing car audio does not have an external amp and their are no RCA connectors at the rear of the head unit, it is still possible to connect an external/add on amp by using an adapter that connects to the speaker wires of the head unit and converting it out to line level (through RCAs) appropriate for the input of the amp.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. it would also be nice if you can post brand/model of your head unit and intended sub amp.

Good luck and kind regards.
