SOURCE: After changing a blown oven light, the clock works but nothing else turns on, including the fan, light, microwave

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gold Microwave Model GH7155XHS

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

SOURCE: Start button on microwave does not work

Some numbers are missing off that model number. Would that be model 721.62622200?

(If not, please reply back with the correct model number off the tag)

If it's cooking with the programmed buttons, but Start is not working, it sounds like the keypad has failed.

The keypad for model number 721.62622200 is no longer available as a separate part.

So you'd have to buy the entire controller assembly, which includes the plastic frame, keypad, and circuit board, etc.

It is part # 4781W1M307A and it runs $110.10 at the Sears parts Web site.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

How do you set the clock on the microwave?

It depends on the model of Microwave. Generally speaking, though, most are not too hard to figure out. With the unit plugged n and sitting there, look for a CLOCK icon or SETTINGS button. Generally there's a small icon that looks like an analog clock. PRESS IT. Then just enter the time (most don't differentiate between a.m. and p.m. and hit the clock button or START button to finish.

Have a Whirlpool over-stove microwave. Can set time but then it scrolls between AM & PM. Cannot find how to set the AM/PM portion, and completing the time set.

Which microwave model do you have? Most of the Whirlpool microwaves that I know only have a 12-hour clock. They do not indicate AM or PM. To set the ones that I know, press Clock. Type in the current time in a 12-hour format. Press Clock again. The only model that I find quickly that has an AM/PM option is the GH7208XR. On that model, start with the main menu displayed on the LCD screen. Touch Settings and Info. Next press Clock. Then press Adjust Time. Follow the instructions to set the time and the AM/PM setting. I'll assume you use the +/- buttons. To hide the clock, get to the Clock Screen. Press Adjust Time and Hide Clock to return to the main menu. See these two pages of the manual for this model: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/190817/Whirlpool-Gh7208xr.html?page=9#manual and https://www.manualslib.com/manual/190817/Whirlpool-Gh7208xr.html?page=12#manual

Current Whirlpool over-the-range models sold in the US are listed here: https://www.whirlpool.com/kitchen/cooking/microwaves/over-the-range.html . Other Whirlpool appliance manuals are available from the Owner Support page: https://www.whirlpool.com/services/manuals.html.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number for a more accurate information on setting the clock. The model number should be inside the microwave on the rim. Usually it's on the bottom of the door frame near the door hinge.

How to reset the clock

On most microwaves you simply press (Clock) then push in the time with the number pad, then you press start button.
This is how most will set, some models will also have am/pm options.

If all else fails then get the model number of your microwave and make/Brand and go to the manufactures website, for instance if its whirlpool type in www.whirlpool.com and go to the section for manuals and it usually will ask you for your model number.

Good Luck!

Wont work

Don't know this particular model, but it sounds like you are just pressing the time buttons for cooking and not actually setting the time clock which is what it's asking for. Are you following the instructions for setting time as detailed in your instruction book?
