hello,

If this is happening all the time maybe you should think about the fact that it is not able to operate at this level all the time. I never turn mine up above 60 because the people at Yamaha told me this was the safe volume level. Try that.

The audio amps may be overheating and shutting down. a lot of electronic devices don't receive heat sink compound when being assembled and the heat doesn't transfer as it should. Try cooling the unit either in a plastic bag in the refrigerator or placing it in a cool airstream directed at the rear of the unit. If it's in a stack of other electronic devices, place something between the units to allow air to circulate. I hot-melt glue tinkertoy wheels to the bottom of the units myself to separate them.

To setup recordings to your VCR/DVD player, you will want torun from receiver output to VCR/DVD input and from VCR/DVD output to TV input. Thefan on the VIP622 receiver is just like the fan in a computer tower. Even ifthe receiver is off the fan will still run to keep unit the right temperature foryour DVR receiver. Unit wont stay powered up

Check for overheating. Place the unit in a large plastic bag and place it in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour. Don't allow condensation to appear on the unit before powering it up, the heat will evaporate any potential condensation. Put moisture absorber or rice in a paper bag in the plastic bag for safety to absorb any moisture. Then power up. If still inoperative check for DC or AC voltage on speaker connectors. If one side is different, or if DC appears on the outputs, audio output may be shorted. See if plugging in headphones stops the problem, some units disable the audio outputs with headphones plugged in.

try each of the four speakers independently. It's likely that ONE is blown (or has a wire shorted to ground) and is causing the unit to shut down.
