SOURCE: Chrome Adobe Error

Fresh out of Google suppot -

"Download the flash player for windows xpi file - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/xpi/current/flashplayer-win.xpi

"Rename the file to .zip

"Explore the .zip file and you will see a couple files, flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll, which you have to copy.

"Open another explorer window and go to the plugins folder of your google chrome browser, which might be at -
C/Documents and settings//Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Chrome/Application/Plugins/

"Paste both the files in this plugins folder and then close your Chrome browser and restart it

Those instructions worked fine for me, but I had to make one small change to the advice given there - Vista uses a different folder structure, so I had to paste the two necessary files into C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins

The folder Plugins did not exist when I navigated my way there, so I created it and dropped the two files in, restarted the Chrome browser and ... Voila! Working fine

Other thing I’d say is that my first step was to visit the Chrome Help pages, in particular, http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95697&cbid=1798iqe1e7223&src=cb&lev=answer

and installed Java 6 v 10 like they suggested, before doing the Flash business

Trying to download adobe flash player 11.3 with windows 10

It sounds like a some other process is identifying itself as Chrome and preventing the installation. Repeat the process and when you're prompted to close Chrome, open Task Manager, look for entries labeled Chrome and terminate them. This should enable the installation to proceed.

If you're using Chrome browser itself, Google embeds Flash Player in Chrome and there is no need to install Flash Player separately, however, Google does disable Flash Player by default, forcing users to enable it. If this is the case, see Use or fix Flash audio & video - Computer - Google Chrome Help for troubleshooting steps to enable Flash in Chrome.

I seemed to have lost my sound just to utube

No sound on YouTube videosIf you don't hear sound on YouTube videos, please try the following steps:
  1. Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers.
  2. Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube Video Player.
  3. Restart your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
  4. Ensure that the volume is turned up on other video players, such as Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player, as this might affect the video player sound.
If you still have no sound after trying the steps above, you may want to try the steps below:
  1. Install the latest version of Adobe Flash (necessary for streaming YouTube videos) after removing any old versions you've installed. Learn how to install the most recent version of Adobe Flash player.
  2. Allow third-party Flash content on your computer by visiting the Adobe Flash Global Storage Settings Panel and following the instructions. Once this is complete, close all browser windows and try re-playing the Live Event.
Please be advised that this action stores a Flash cookie on your computer. Flash enables this by default upon install.
  3. Check your Antivirus and Firewall software to see if you're blocking third-party Flash content.

Install chrome flash player version

Enable or disable Adobe Flash Player

These instructions apply to Google Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS.

  1. Type chrome:plugins in the address bar to open the Plug-ins page.
  2. On the Plug-ins page that appears, find the "Flash" listing.
    • To enable Adobe Flash Player, click the Enable link under its name.
    • To disable Adobe Flash Player completely, click the Disable link under its name.

Note: If you've previously installed Adobe Flash Player separately, you'll see two files listed for the plug-in. If both are listed as enabled, the version bundled with Chrome will be used. To enable a specific version of Adobe Flash Player, click Details in the upper-right corner of the page. Then click the Enable link for the version of Adobe Flash Player you want to enable. The table below shows the filename for the version that is integrated with Google Chrome.

Unable to view photo, play video, and download adobe flash player, The message i get is Missing Plug-in. can somebody help.

There may be two main causes for this problem1.Flash may be disabled in your browser. To enable:1. Type "about:plugins" [without quotes"] in the address bar of google chrome.2. Click the "Details" @ the upper right corner of the page3. You could see a list of settings enabled/disable. Find the flash listing in the page and click "enable".4. Close all the pages and restart the browser.5. It would start working.--2.If this doesn't solve your problem, then ensure that all the settings in chrome are "recommended settings"..especially java script.Disable all extensions and add-ons and try it out

I'm running Windows XP. Using IE8, the youtube videos won't play. There is no warning or anything, just the video is black and there is no play button. On Google chrome, there is no problem with playing...

Well Sunkengarden, the videos you are watching on YouTube or any such websites are the Flash Player Applications. That means, the Browser on which you are trying watch the videos, needs Flash Player Application to be installed on your computer. Such traditionally most widely used flash players are Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight.
While you are using Google Chrome, there is no problem just because of Google Chrome already have in-built flash player within it. But the problem remains for IE or other Browsers.
Different Web-Browsers use different types of Adobe Flash Players (IE type or Non-IE type). So, for best results, I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE Adobe Flash Players on your computer to have all the browsers play the videos without any problem.
Download the Flash Players by clicking on the following links:
Hope this helps,
Regards, Mrityunjay.
