SOURCE: X5150 and Vista print issue

I am posting this in hopes of helping others that are having issues with the Vista print spooler. In my case, I have an HP Pavilion laptop running Vista connected to a wireless hub. I also have a Minolta Konica 2300DL printer that is connected to the network via the wireless hub as well. Ever since obtaining this laptop, I have not been able to print to the printer other than stopping and starting the print spooler to obtain a single print 'job'. After about six months I found a post that contains the fix - I cannot take credit for it! Follow these instructions to get your printer to work:

1.) Go into control panel - I would suggest classic view as it is a little easier to navigate.

2.) Then go into User Accounts.

3.) From User Accounts go into Turn User Account Control On or Off

4.) UNCHECK Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.

5.) At this point you will probably require a reboot.

Once this exercise is complete, you should be able to print. One more item off of my Honey DOO list!!!!!

SOURCE: "out of memory" message then printing to screen and printer

You would need to increase your virtual memory and restart your computer. Windows XP:

Right click my computer, go to properties
Select the advanced tab
Click advanced tab
Click change under virtual memory.
Set virtual memory 1500 to 4000
click set and apply, ok
If the memory is set higher, select a higher number.
This should resolve your issue.

SOURCE: Printer prints multiple pages with DPR1260 print server

I was having the same problem when I added a Windows Vista PC to my home network. My older XP systems workd fine, but the Vista system would keep printing. The following fix worked forme in vista, may work in XP also.

1. First, be sure you have the latest firmware in your DPR1260. Version 1.24 is what I am using.
2. From the printer window (or via controlm panel) select your printer, then select Properties (either right click, or from the menu via File-Properties)
3. In the Properties Window, select the Ports tab. You should see your printer highlighted and checked, under the port heading next to thcheck box you'll see IP_192.168.x.x, under descriptio Standard TCP/IP Port, and undr Printer, the name of your printer.
4. Click the "Configure Port" button, be sure "LPR" is selected, not "RAW". Under LPR Settings, check that the "Queue Name" matches that in our DPR1260 status screen, and be sure SNMP Status Enabled is not checked.

The problem on my Vista machine went away when I changed from "RAW" to "LPR" settings.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Lexmark 2470 only prints 1 page out of 10 pages!!!!

You may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."

Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 2400 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.

How do i download firmware for a 900 firmware error - lexmark 540n

Before you download firmware, the 900 error usually indicates a software or communications problem. Please try to do the following.

Disconnect every cable, except for the power cord and turn off the printer for 30 seconds or more to clear its memory

  • Clear all jobs in print queue then turn on the printer and see if the error returns
  • If the error does not return, try to print a test page from the Test Menu
  • If the test page prints correctly, the printer's hardware is most likely working correctly. The source of the problem is probably outside the base printer.

What does 900 Service RIP Software error message mean and how do i reslove it

If the 900 error occurs only when the printer is receiving information from a network or computer, contact your software/network support. If the error occurs when the printer is idle or not connected to the network or PC, there may be a printer hardware or connection problem. Sometimes a bad connection with an Internal Network Adapter/Network Card can cause the problem. The first thing to check is the base printer. To check the base printer:
  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect every cable, except for the power cord.
  2. Turn on the printer and see if the error returns.
  3. If the error does not return, try to print a test page from the Test Menu.
    1. Press Menu > to enter Menus.
Optra S series and Optra K series printers: Continue to press Menu > until you see TESTS MENU.
Optra T and Lexmark T and W series printers: Continue to press Menu > until you see UTILITIES MENU.
    2. Press Select to view the menu items. TESTS/UTILITIES MENU is now on the first line of the display.
    3. Press the Menu > button until Print Menus appears on the second line.
    4. Press Select.
    5. If the display tells you to change paper, press Select or the GO button to print.
  4. If the test page prints correctly, the printer's hardware is most likely working correctly. The source of the problem is probably outside the base printer.
  5. If the 900 error occurs again before, during, or after the printing of the test page, remove all options (internal network adapters, optional feeders, second drawer options, finisher options, additional memory, etc.) from the printer.
  6. Then turn on the printer and try to print the test page. If it still posts the 900 error, the printer may need to be serviced.
  7. If the error does not return, then the problem may be with one of the options.
IMPORTANT: If you receive an Invalid Engine Code error message when you power the printer back on, there is a problem with the printer. An Invalid Engine Code condition will cause a 900 RIP Software Error message to appear if you try to use the printer. The Invalid Engine Code error means either that your printer has lost its stored operating code for the engine board or that the printer's engine board has gone out.

I installed new cartridges in my X2550 Lexmark I want to print a test page. It scanned the test page but will not print it. What do I do?

it depends on the error message why the test page won't print. If it just won't print at all, try to reseat the paper into the printer and turn off/on the printer then try to print the test page.

If it doesnt, then turn off the printer, remove cables. And then press and hold the power button on the printer for 5 seconds . Reinsert cables and turn on the printer and print the test page anew....

I keep getting memory full and it wont clear so I can print. How do I clear the memory.

Power on the printer without the printer or networkcable attached. Check if you can print a test page. If this works there is a printjob in the system that should be deleted before connecting the printer to your computer or network.

I have been printing chapters in a book. One chapter will not print. The message on the Lexmark screen is "flushing buffer". does anyone know what this means or why it will not print?

The 'flushing buffer' is most likely due to a corrupt file or file to large for the printer memory. You can check the file size and reduce it. Also you might want to upgrade your memory for the printer. Also might want to check your printer settings if the page you are having trouble printing is different from the other pages printed, such as text & graphics, etc. There is also a possibly of print program incompatibility or Windows OS Patch required but I doubt this since you have printed other pages without any problem. Lexmark Optra 1275sc - 900 Service - Software Error

I have the same problem, but the error only occurs when I try to print a .pdf file (Adobe Reader) using the "Lexmark Optra SC 1275 PS" driver. For some reason the PS driver didn't like .pdf files! My solution was to always print .pdf files using the alternative " Lexmark Optra SC 1275 (MS)" driver, which Lexmark also offers on its website.
