i have had this same problem and unfortunately it seems that the disc stem gets so hot that it melts the top of the bowl to the blade. I finally got it out but the bowl was ruined as was the dough blade.

Contacted customer service and part is discontinued. Purchased a Cuisinart from Amazon.com.

I have the Black & Decker Shortcut food processor Model CFP10 and it has a broken bowl. I would prefer to replace the bowl but haven't found a source. So I would be willing to sell the good parts: Food Pusher, Food Chute/Cover; Food Fingers/ Reversible Disc, Disc Stem, Knife Blade. Make me an offer and e mail me at:

There is no mechanism to lock the stem onto the base of the KFP750. It's just held on by gravity, so you're not missing anything simple!

It's possible that the soap dust got in there and glued in on. Take a blow dryer or very hot rag (use tongs!) to the stem to see if you can soften the soap, then pull up the stem.

Remove the pusher sleeve and lid from the work bowl first, then slide the work bowl out of the locked position. At this point, the stem should be exposed.
